Hello Racketboy, I am a retro gamer known as Painkiller. I love the NES and SNES the most!

To tell you a little more about myself, I am also working on an Internet web site project with a majority of it devoted to retro gaming and heavy metal, especially from the '80s and '90s. Unlike the current trend of the Internet it will be purely written in HTML by choice, with the exception of a community forum. I am doing this because I want to resemble the Internet in the retro form similar to how it was back in the 56k modem days, a site that will load up instantly on weaker connections, and much more friendly to users with a capped Internet connection.

I am currently looking for some help with this project in terms of a loyal contributor or suggestions on a good free web hosting service to start off on.

I love my music on vinyl and still own my old school consoles. I hope I'll enjoy my stay here.:)

Welcome! I like the HTML site idea, I'm doing a similar idea but with wrestling. Need web hosting ideas myself.

A true fan! 8) Welcome!

Also, a bit of a late nighter, huh? Don't forget to join the Late Night Crew - way better than the Early Morning Crew.

Hi there guys,

I was a heavy PC gamer up until the end of high school (2000) and since then really fell off the gaming bandwagon. This year I bought an Android tablet and scored a Nintendo Wii for AU$30. I found Racketboy through the EXCELLENT game guides for systems. I don't collect right now, because, as a family we like to move around alot, but, at the end of its life, I would like to try my hand a predicting which Wii titles will hold their value well. Also Together Retro, I want to take part in that!

I picked up Tetsunoko VS Capcom Allstars most recently, and just love kicking back with Mrs. vault and playing it with the simplified wiimote controls. I have a bunch Wii games plus many emulated systems and roms, most of which chosen from these very racketboy articles!

I am a heavy tinkerer, all my computers run linux, my 7" tablet (which serves as my phone also) runs CyanogenMod nightly and the Wii was softmodded the very day I bought it... Anyway that'll do for my first post

Welcome, Vault. Who are you using in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom? Give Polimar a chance if you can, he's really fun to play as.

I've been here a while now, but never introduced myself in this thread. My first console was the almighty Sega Master System, then I moved on to the Mega Drive, but I was only ever allowed to rent games because my parents didn't want my obsession with gaming to ruin my schooling or something. Got a 64 and forgot about the older stuff...

Then in around 2003 I bought a mega drive one from a record store with a couple of games, and MK3 and Street Fighter 2 Special Champion Ed from a pawn shop ($6.00 each). That mega drive broke, but a few years later a friend of mine left his collection at my house. I slowly started to collect again myself, filling that hole in my soul where I had always known a stack of Sega games belonged. Being a bit of a stoner waste for a few years meant that the collection grew slowly, but I was buying every game I saw in the wild and discovering heaps of hidden gems.

Now I have a gorgeous 2 year old daughter and a job (or several casual jobs) and have a room which is my game room and art studio. I have collections now for Master System, Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, NES, SNES, Gamegube, N64, Wii, and Atari 2600, but its mainly the awesome Sega Mega Drive that gives me my fix.

I came here for the awesome guides and joined the forums because I don't know many people in real life who geek out over gaming like I do (just one or two actually) and could talk about gaming and game collecting all day. I love how the people here are so helpful when someone like me asks questions, and I've received some valuable information very quickly in these forums.

I also make art and have incorporated my gaming obsession into a lot of my recent work. I have decided to share some of it here because I think someone might appreciate it. I just posted 2 of my drawings in the Shmups sub-forum.

See you all round the boards!
