I laughed way more than I should have while watching this. It's a decent thriller, but I don't see all the fuss over it. Many of the twists you can see coming a mile away as so many of them are teed up for you.

My theater was almost packed, 98% women. I can see guys enjoying just as much but more than likely for different reasons. Would not recommend it for a date movie however. But if you've been married for five years like I have, it was refreshing.
Clearly you're just trolling now. Gone Girl is the greatest first date movie ever made.

Haven't seen the first, but this one is a pretty serviceable thriller. Of course as usual the ideologically-motivated nutjobs missed the point entirely. Wish it had more social commentary than the usual Hollywood effort though.

Is this the introduction to the opposites?

Horrible first date movie.

Unless however, well, ya know if you've seen it. But that is an odd circumstance for a first date.

Watched Hours and Carrie(2013) on netflix last night.

The main thing that drew me to Hours was Paul Walker. While he had a pretty solid performance in the film everything else was pretty mediocre. It was an interesting idea and the aftermath of Katrina is a very interesting setting that hasn't been used much. However the story just became a drag after a while. They really set a big limit on themselves and the logic behind why he is stuck in the situation is just moronic.
I mean really is there only one battery powered thing in the entire hospital? It's not like this was the only premature baby ever born there should have been at least two-three other machines and at least a small stockpile of batteries somewhere. I mean really he finds a hand crank battery charger in about 5 minutes but there are no replacement batteries anywhere  .
Carrie(2013) was decent but no where near as good as the original. It just seemed like they tried to hard and the film lost a lot of it's campy charm.

The Happening.

Piece of shit but at least it has some funny moments. Walhberg and Deschanel are just awful in it which I think helps rather than hinders.

Nothing especially deep to say about it. It may have been cliche, but I felt it was self aware of that fact and played off of it well. Interesting cinematography and relatively decent acting along with some nice slasher scenes made for an entertaining ride. It felt like a proper homage to classic slasher films. I'm not saying it was without fault, I'm just saying I found it enjoyable. It was refreshing compared to some of the other crap they have been trying to pawn off as horror these days.

I haven't ever seen the original, I'll be looking into that as well.
