Honestly I was kinda surprised to learn how old some of you are.
'course it also totally changes how old I perceive "30" to be.

Shouldnt be that surprising when you consider the 30-36 year olds are the first generation that really grew up with gaming as a mainstream source of entertainment their whole lives. I use the term mainstrean loosely.AppleQueso wrote:Honestly I was kinda surprised to learn how old some of you are.

I remember when DVDs first came out they were only single layer and you had to flip it half way through, kinda like a laser disc.RCBH928 wrote:Heck, I don't even remember a movie released over 2 DVDs.

There have been others I've noticed in the notification area that are older. I know there was one who was a regular, but stopped posting over a year ago. Their name escapes me.Ack wrote:Yeah, followed by Hobie I believe.pepharytheworm wrote: If I had to guess it would be bacteria from what he said in his posts.

Do you have any references for this online? I've never seen a double sided DVD5 because DVD9 wasn't viable yet for a commercial product.bryan_65 wrote:I remember when DVDs first came out they were only single layer and you had to flip it half way through, kinda like a laser disc.RCBH928 wrote:Heck, I don't even remember a movie released over 2 DVDs.

I remember double sided DVDs where one side was widescreen and one side was letterboxed.

In all seriousness, here's some examples from early DVDs:

All these are WB releases: Gettysburg (half of movie on each side), Gone with the Wind (half of movie on each side), Sleepers (half of movie on each side), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (widescreen on one side, full screen on the other).
For something like GWTW and Gettysburg this made some sense as the movies are ~4 hours long. Sleepers, however, is under 2 and a half hours, and is a better example of what was referenced above.
