Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I have two words for you: Deep Focus.
Any director who can execute Deep Focus properly, especially back then, is worthy of a place in the history books.
Personally it is not my favorite movie (that is The Sting), but it is a work of cinematographic genius. Its story may not be one that appeals to everyone, but how it was made was simply brilliant. And I know that sounds like I am parroting what other say but if you have ever tried to deepfocus you would understand. We tired to do it for one shoot a couple years ago and the DP just quit on the spot.

I totally understand and respect the use of deep focus, and the fact that the movie came in out in the early 40's, I just think that fancy camerawork alone doesnt make a movie, it certainly helps, and Citizen Kane was great, the camera work enhanced the movie, but when other parts are lacking, and you have a predictable story line...it does not qualify as one of the greatest for mefastbilly1 wrote:I have two words for you: Deep Focus.

True the storyline was a bit predictable but it is a fictional biography that starts with the guy dying... But I agree I think the story is alittle weak.

I agree.OldSchool_Boy wrote:The Story of Ricky
Such a great movie
Also, I think that if they did an American remake, they shouldn't hold back on the graphic violence. They should also flesh out the plot, so that way it's substance and style.
Oh, and Ricky should be played by Tito Ortiz (is he the one I'm thinking of?).
And I've seen all four of the movies that I rented on New Years Eve.
* Watchmen - LOVED IT
* The Hangover - LOVED IT
* Slumdog Millionaire - BRILLIANT
* Milk - a gr8 film that makes you think

Haha, I don't know about thee Digimon movie as I haven't seen Digimon in years, but yes it really is a classic.Reverend wrote:I saw this a few months ago and it was just beautiful. Everything about it was great. I got a bit distracted that the time stream looked exactly like the internet in the Digimon Movie, but I got over it. Certainly a classic (and based off of a classic book).Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
I haven't read the book yet, but I really want to as I've heard that it's great as well.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
My condolences sir. I myself have seen it twice. The original broadcast and when a Star Wars fan at school brought a VHS copy he'd paid $25 for at a convention in for everyone to watch. When I was 5, it was awesome. Seeing it again later, not so much. But if you only watched 20 minutes, maybe you just watched the animated bit which was ok?fastbilly1 wrote:Star Wars Christmas Special (well about twenty minutes of it).

Nono, we tried to make it to the animated part. I gave up when it was five minutes of Wookies talking to each other. I mean I am a Star Wars fan but egads that was as bad as they said it was.

I watched E.T on Christmas, it was part of a whole bunch of cheap DVDs I recently bought. That was a fun movie.
