Really sore about missing out on those autographed signboards. Next movie I'm camping out at the theater, that's all there is to it.
I disagree. The first two movies retell the TV series and do it better. Sayaka is less annoying. The art and animation are upgraded GREATLY. So that already tops the TV series.

As for the 3rd movie, I'd say it is a great addition to the series but leaves me wanting more. And it's basically confirmed that there will be more. They need to finish up the story. The original TV series was not meant to have a sequel, according to interviews I've seen, but I think they made this addition work pretty seamlessly.

As for being a Homura fan, she is my favorite to. And I love what they did with her. A natural progression of her character.
Can't wait until they make a Homucifer figure.
They ran out at your theater? I easily got one for each day I went here in MA. One is Madokami. The other is Kyoko and Sayaka.

Just finished Wolf's Rain for the second time a few days ago. Enjoyed the ending a lot more than I did before.
I think originally I missed the concept that the world would 'reset' when they reached Paradise, but noticed the hints they provided throughout the show my second time through.

Particularly a voice over a few episodes before the finale that asks 'When are we born? When do we die? Why are we born? Why do we die? The world has been destroyed and we've fallen countless times, always resurrecting from the ashes as Paradise. It has happened before, and it will happen again. An endless cycle of life and death'

They're really emphasizing the cyclical nature of time and their existence within it, which definitely helped make the ending a bit more meaningful.

I forgot all about that series. I need to watch that. The few episodes I have seen, good series!

When I watched it, I felt like it was one that the parts were better than the whole (Ergo Proxy would be similar), but it might prove different if I went back and watched it again, not sure.

Just watched the first two episodes of Space Adventure Cobra (1982, 1983, TV). I found out about this show from that terrible music video. I guess I was expecting something character drama or introspection, like Macross or Bebop, but it seems pretty dumb so far.

Maybe the movie or the OVAs were way better than the TV version? Has anyone else seen any other parts of this series?

I haven't seen any Space Adventure Cobra, but I heard that the movie is really great from a visual standpoint if nothing else.

I just finished Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine the other day and totally loved it. It's pretty easily the most solid Lupin TV series and is also the best post-1980s Lupin I've seen. I like how much of it recalls the manga and early episodes of the first TV series and yet it also totally does its own thing at the same time.
I watch an episode of anime every morning and at the moment I'm getting through a disc of Urusei Yatsura from Netflix (I'm up to 22) - I haven't decided what I'll start next. I own but have not yet watched DVDs of Cutie Honey and laserdiscs of Sailor Moon. But I also want to watch the third Lupin III series that's on Hulu and ZZ Gundam that's on Daisuki... I'll make up my mind at some point over the next day or two!

Watched Persona 3: Spring of Life while I was in Japan. Was pretty damn good.

Currently watching Bakemonogatari. Only on Ep3 but I'm enjoying it thus far.

After that I plan to pick up Gargantia.

The last few episodes of Monogatari have been pretty divisive. Barely animated, just Hitagi and Kaiki talking while other characters do way more interesting things in the background. I've enjoyed them, but they could have been way better.

I'm a big Monogatari fan in general - the series is doing something completely unheard of right now - but I wonder if it could have been even more interesting going in a different direction. Less harem, less girls, more supernatural. Cute as they are, Kanbaru and Mayoi were hardly necessary. I'd love to learn more about oddities instead. How do they interact with the material world? How and why do they come from people's personal issues?

Senjougahara and Araragi trying to deal with oddities by themselves could have been really, really interesting too. My favorite arcs have always been the ones where the main characters solve their own problems, rather than asking Oshino, Gaen, or even Kaiki to save them.
