So what have you guys been watching lately?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Nope. Gonna give Gotham a few more episodes, but it better hook me quick or it's getting the drop. Donal Logue is great though.

No, because apparently they think her mere presence is so awesome it elevates the show

I dislike how Catwoman has suddenly become this integral part of the Batman mythos. I can't believe she's even around at this time period. She should be as young as Bruce. The only thing I ever liked about her is her occasional cat and mouse chases with Batman in the animated series or in some of the Batman video games. They always proved for a fun time and a good exhibition of Batman's athletic abilities. Batman chases in general are awesome. Case in point:

Beyond that I find her obnoxious. She's a cliche that I dislike. The hot, sexy, rogue/thief character who is kind of a bitch and thinks FAR too highly of her own sex appeal and must therefore make every other line of her dialog a sexual innuendo.

See River Song from Doctor Who(who wasn't even pretty enough for this type of character), or Amanda from Highlander the series, or Bela Talbot from Supernatural, or I could go on and on...

That character type has been done so many times

Currently DLing the latest episodes of ToQger and Gaim. The final episode of Gaim airs on Sunday at 8am Japan Standard Time, when in my time zone it'll be Saturday night at 8pm.

Gotham... underwhelming. A lot of cliches and missed opportunities. Gordon's introduction was nothing special, a lot of the characters seemed to be there just because they'll eventually turn into something, but would have been better served by being in the background, not getting full scenes (ivy, catwoman, ...joker?)

Casting of Barbara Gordon... awful. Initially I thought he was visiting a hooker. And she has a mysterious past! And boy does he live in a badass apartment for a new guy cop. Also, everybody knew he was a new guy. Like, if he were to run into a bum in an alley the bum would have probably said "so you're the new cop".

The Bruce Wayne stuff, judging by this ep and the preview of the next, is going to reach the point where we're thinking: "there's no way Gordon could not know Bruce Wayne is Batman" when he finally comes to Gotham. "I'm testing myself!" "I'm learning to conquer fear!".

Also, the makeup guys missed a spot on Penguin's teeth, unless he only brushes his molars...

Donal Logue is always great though.

Didn't Benjamin McKenzie also play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the straight-to-DVD animated adaptation of Batman: Year One?

And now he's on a show that's basically Batman: Year -10

I started up a series that I initially dismissed called Trailer Park Boys. I had no hopes going into it, since I grew up non-affluent in the south I always get touchy around the subjects of "rednecks" and so called "trailer park boys." However when it takes place in Canada, has two main characters that are alot like Dante and Randall from Clerks Animated, and their neighbor is kinda like Bill from King of the Hill, it makes for a fun show.

I've been told by people I remind them of Bubbles on Trailer Park Boys... I've never seen it, so I have no idea if thats a good thing or not.

Been trying to keep up with Hell On Wheels as best I can, although I'm pretty much always a week behind.

Do you wear thick glasses, take care of cats, and play the guitar?

Bubbles is the best character, but one of my wife's friends is a dead on ringer for Ricky.

My glasses aren't thick, hate cats, and I'm musically inept, so nope.

Always good to hear someone else is getting into TPB. Love that show. Haven't watched the new season on Netflix yet, might marathon it this weekend.
