I played some Samurai Showdown on SNES at my buddy's place the other day. Good port, imo.

Yeah I know, as I said, it went up thanks to Aerofighters and people being pissed at that puffed up price, so you seek alternatives.

I'm totally on board with that. Sold Bonk on NES for $300 towards my pinball table, got the Famicom one for $15-20 shipped from Japan. Win win. :) Had an offer for my retrozone Gradius 2 cart for a high value, then got the Famicom one again for same price. They win, I win, everyone wins. :) I probably should just get Sonic Wings, but it's more of a principle of the matter of not caving. I'd rather accident into it some day even if it takes another 10 years but actively short of winning powerball, I don't seek it online at all.

Since the prices started to go way up on these two carts, I've considered selling Mega Man X2 and X3 and using the money to buy an Sd2snes (which can play both games 100%) and probably still have some money left over. I don't know. I consider myself a gamer first and foremost, but I guess some small part of me is a collector too.

One would buy of you'd have a lot left. Just enjoy the games and the money. Trophies to a puffed up market isn't worth it since sd2snes runs them.

You won't regret the SD2SNES. It's a fantastic flash cart, and while it doesn't play everything what it does play is well worth it. Speaking of games it doesn't play I just ordered Super Bomberman Panic Bomber World for $8.

Oh, I know all about the Sd2snes. I've been excited about it since I first read ikari reveal plans for it on the NesDev forums. I just haven't been able to spend the ~$200 on one yet.

Is Panic Bomber World playable for non-Japanese speaking people? I own this cart, I got it some years back in a lot with Super Bombermna 1-4 and the Bomberman multi tap. I just never really played it. It's a puzzle game, like Mean Bean Machine or Tetris or something, right?

I haven't played the SNES game, but I beat Panic Bomber on Virtual Boy just last week and it was easy to pick up and play without knowing the language I think. Might take few plays to fully grasp the rules, but there's nothing super complex.

Yeah it appears to be a Puyo Puyo type game.

Does anyone know if the Sufami Turbo would be worth getting for someone who doesn't read any Japanese.

I had Panic Bomber as a Japanese PCE CD when I had a Duo back in the 90s. The language is a non-issue. It's not quite puyo, not quite columns, not quite wario's woods, but it's kind of a mix of all three. It's actually a pretty fun puzzle game. If I remember right the SFC and PCE CD game are the same general gameplay content.
