Vader's albums are all pretty much the same, which isn't really a bad thing.

They have an album full of re-recorded old tracks called XXV. It's definitely one of the better albums of that type that I've heard. It probably helps that unlike most bands that pull that sort of thing, Vader's just become a tighter, more polished band over the years and Pitor's vocals have greatly improved.

Been running into a lot of people only hearing Vader for the first time actually.

They're one of the most well-known death metal bands, how'd you guys manage to avoid them so long?

Just a personal preference, but for me death metal ranks waaaaaay below black and doom. And most of the death metal I do listen to are the pretty well-known Swedish and American bands.

My favorite DM bands are the "typical" stuff: Morbid Angel, Entombed, Dismember, Bolt Thrower, Edge of Sanity, Obituary, Autopsy, etc........

I can name tons of obscure black and doom bands but the most "underground" DM I listen to is probably something like The Chasm (Mexico) or Molested (Norway).

Anyway, I should probably explore the genre a bit more.
