I literally feel uncomfortable and embarrassed for the actors when I watch that show.

BBT is just a situational/rom-com with geekery as the backdrop. It's not meant to be taken super seriously...I find it amusing most episodes. Portraying jobs such as scientists/researchers/astronauts as positives, and interests such as video games/comic books/DnD as normal with an oddball cast of flawed human beings is a good thing, even if it is flying under the banner of a comedy. Television tends to be the harbinger of what's OK/acceptable in society. There's something pretty cool about your friends looking at your DnD books and saying: "Oh, they were playing that on Big Bang Theory! That's cool!" Maybe not so cool that television had to get them there, but better than: "That's so weird, you don't live in a basement and I don't see any cheeto dust, what gives?"

Plus, Sheldon is probably the most lovable irritating character that's ever been on TV. May even more so than Steve Urkel! :)

I hate that show. I don't see the humor at all. And such a stereo type that are represented on the show? I don't know dude I can't imagine people act like that in real life.

I don't know about success, but I really liked the show overall. I haven't seen the last two seasons due to various reasons, but I really liked it.

@ZeroAX on the Women's Football (I really wanted to put soccer, but I stopped myself)
At my college, the Women's soccer team is way better received than our men's. Those gals can kick some ass.

*read again* I get it now. Still very applicable to the way our women's soccer team plays.

There is a VERY VERY LARGE segment of our populace that are EASILY amused.

Whenever friends of mine say they like this or other drivel like "Friends" I make a mental note; "This person's recommendation on anything is henceforth worthless."
