and do people still try to pull of the comb over? I haven't seen that in years. If I was going bald I would bring that back. Just like I'm bringing back the fanny pack(my wife rolls her eyes).

That's kind of the point though: a) His humor is offensive, insulting, and base, yet we find it funny, and b) some people actually say crap like that in all seriousness.Hobie-wan wrote:Nope. One can only say things like "The sky is falling" or "I'm not a racist but..."* before I start believing the exact opposite. Anyway. Moving on.Luke wrote:You are better than this.
Tosh walks around making sexist jokes as often as Vin walks around blowing up tanks with RPG's, They are characters.
*just similar themed examples
Tosh is funny because he is insulting everyone and everything, including both the audience and himself.

I think I read that he had a toupee or something in his hair for every Bond film.Hobie-wan wrote:I'm pretty sure Sean Connery was already pretty thin on top those years he was People Magazine's top guy.elmagicochrisg wrote:Jason Statham, Bruce Willis and Vin Diesel would like to have a word with you...Luke wrote:You'd be hard pressed to find a "Sexiest Man Of The Year" top 20 (or top 100) who is bald. Thrice in my life I believe I have frequented a strip club.Jmustang1968 wrote: I thought you said you go fairly often? And had all of your etiquette posts about going??
But yeah, etiquette is important to me so I will mention proper form.
As far as Tosh goes, no comedian is popular nor profitable if not rustling feathers. That is if you don't consider people with puppets as comedians.

Bill Cosby did just fine as a comedian without ruffling feathers. It was only later in life that he started speaking out against the problems he saw in young black culture.Luke wrote:Thrice in my life I believe I have frequented a strip club.Jmustang1968 wrote: I thought you said you go fairly often? I always thought Cosby fit a different kind of humor, based around that fatherly appeal. Both Bill Cosby and Tim Allen hit it: I feel like I'm listening to my dad telling a funny story and making his usual dad humor jokes. To me, that is their appeal.MrPopo wrote:Bill Cosby did just fine as a comedian without ruffling feathers. I am balding and it hasn't hurt me in the slightest. In fact, a pretty cute girl is snuggling up with me right now.

A rare, and exceptional deviation from the rule (which I try to follow but fail).MrPopo wrote: Bill Cosby did just fine as a comedian without ruffling feathers.
Cosby never named names, which fits his stature, but he did say that the cheapest jokes that are sure to get a laugh are based on either sex or shock value.
HIMSELF might be my favorite comedy album and the amount of family friendly comedy he provides is unmatched in my opinion.
My posts aside, I'm fluent in comedy and it is a rarity to see comics climb the ladder without "making a splash". I'm not joking when I say I've seen at least two dozen comedians pretend to have a mental disability to get laughs, and it works.
Cosby is one of a kind.

daniel tosh sucks and is super annoying and really not that funny. his most "hilarious" quips are from his tv show, thanks to the writing team i'm sure. and his standup is all character assassinations and sexism (not harmless "blue collar comedy" sexism, but like tucker max sexism). fuck that dude. serious next-level bro comedy for bros "too cool" for family guy or dane cook is still bro comedy.
