You mean to tell me that thing doesn't come with a DLC season pass at that price?

I don't understand, what are these season passes? I see them mentioned online all the time, but never bother reading into them.Opa Opa wrote:You mean to tell me that thing doesn't come with a DLC season pass at that price?

Re: Xbox One
On top of the outrageous price, the game is multiplayer only. There is no offline campaign. This is an instant no-sale for me.

Re: Xbox One
A season pass allows you to purchase all upcoming major DLC before it comes out for a slight discount. Let's take CoD as an example. A CoD game will have about five downloadable maps. If you bought a season pass you'd save about ten dollars buying all the maps as opposed to downloading them separately.
I imagine that Titanfall, being a first person shooter, will have some maps. It's a bit of an outrageous price for that special edition when other special editions of fps's come with a season pass.

A season pass is effectively a bundle of DLC sold cheaper than the individual prices added up and you purchase it ahead of time. So if you know you would pick up the DLC anyway it's a good purchase.ZeroAX wrote:I don't understand, what are these season passes? I didn't have much time this morning to watch the videos, so I wasn't able to see the action. It sounds like this is going to be like Hawken, where it's an FPS, but your movement is weighty, rather than the as-fast-as-you-can-go standard FPS style. If the game is going to be multiplayer only then I'd say stick with Hawken. On top of the outrageous price, the game is multiplayer only. There is no offline campaign. Also, not all season passes contain all DLC. The Borderlands 2 DLC sticks out in my mind; the season pass was for four DLC scenarios, but they also released two characters which were not covered in the season pass.ZeroAX wrote:you pay for maps....and pay for the privilege of PAYING early for those maps....Opa Opa wrote:A season pass allows you to purchase all upcoming major DLC before it comes out for a slight discount. So they revolutionize the genre by adding a new skin to tanks is all they have basically done in this game? Nice....and I'm sure it will sell like crazy

I don't understand how anyone thought the game would be anything but what it is. It's a reskin of cod plain and simple.
Hopefully Destiny doesn't pull the same shit. I can see it being interesting for the first half while the second half introduces a new enemy type and then just goes to shit. I can see it now there's one weapon that is absolutely useless against the normal enemies but when the second act starts you gotta have it. I'm looking at you shotgun.
