Some terrible advice: You want to have some lucid dreams, try abusing alcohol or drugs for a few months, then quit cold turkey.
No fucking kidding!...

That nightmare I had yesterday was nothing compared to the ones I had 4 months ago!... And that was just from weed. Scariest shit ever. I didn't know I was dreaming when I was dreaming though. Only they felt so real when I had them, bigger than life itself. When I woke up from them it took me a few hours to feel normal again because the dream would still be hanging in the air for a while. Like you don't know or realise what is real and what was dream...

Do not underestimate stopping smoking weed, or you'll be in for a surprise...

Since we're partially on the subject of drug use...

This friend of mine (kind of, more of an acquaintance) has been talking about how he ordered this "Mephedrone" stuff off some website. It's supposed to be a designer drug that acts like cocaine. Websites get away with selling it as "bath salt" I guess. I'm thinking he used it last night/this morning, because I woke up to two voicemails of him uttering complete nonsense about how he's sorry about "Nimbo", amongst other craziness. He did it to a couple of other people as well, so I've heard. This guy's a real idiot and abuses his body to no end (he's pretty mentally unstable also), but I hope he doesn't end up in the hospital for this.

I'm in this boat too. It's quite jarring. Dropping prescribed pharmaceuticals cold turkey doesn't go very smoothly either.

That's ironic, I think I heard one of my friends' younger brother talking about "Mephedrone" specifically as well recently. My usual circle of friends has well... kind of stopped being my usual circle of friends over the last few months thankfully and I wanted that to stop anyways. They can't go by a day without smoking weed and have fallen into tons of other drugs as well. I can't stand being around that stuff and got pretty fed up (yes, I've talked to them plenty of times about it, but it's been YEARS. And they simply cannot respect my opinion to at the very least just not do that shit when I'm hanging out with them. They took me for granted and well, finally I stopped caring and barely hang out with them, suddenly more high school kids I don't care at all about started showing up in the group regularly, yeah... later), luckily some of my other cleaner friends are done with school so I've kind of been re-establishing older friendships with people I'd rather be around with again lately.

Now I'm all for drinking and getting wild, but those nights are about 1,000 times more fun than being around a bunch of stoned people on who knows what. Not to start a fire here or anything...

Back on dreams, I think I did have one night terror last year or so. I can barely explain it in words or anything, but yeah. All I remember was like holding hands in a circle with a group of friends, family, and people, in this black cloudy void of nothingness. Then suddenly this twister like thing just started sucking people up one by one with the scariest screams and crazy hellish yells I've ever heard, and someone shouted "This is it!" next to me like the universe was basically imploding in on itself and it was just the end of everything, death devoured the world or something. I woke up, slapped the lights on and was up for a few hours that night before I could relax again. Damn it was weird as hell.

Other than that though my dreams are usually just pretty weird. It doesn't feel like I can control them as much as I used too years ago, but I can almost always tell when it's a dream and wake myself up from them. But they're rarely anything bad like the thing above, but yeah... just weird stuff. I miss when I just dreamed about girls back in those early teen days.

But yeah, dreams. Weirdest crap ever.

Nothing in the song Ironic is actually ironic. And that's not ironic.

Just because I like to repost things...

Irony deals with opposites; it has nothing to do with coincidence.

If two baseball players from the same hometown, on different teams, receive the same uniform number, it is not ironic. It is a coincidence. If Barry Bonds attains lifetime statistics identical to his father's, it will not be ironic. It will be a coincidence.

Irony is "a state of affairs that is the reverse of what was to be expected; a result opposite to and in mockery of the appropriate result." For instance: a diabetic, on his way to buy insulin, is killed by a runaway truck. He is the victim of an accident. If the truck was delivering sugar, he is the victim of an oddly poetic coincidence. But if the truck was delivering insulin, ah! Then he is the victim of an irony.

If a Kurd, after surviving bloody battle with Saddam Hussein's army and a long, difficult escape through the mountains, is crushed and killed by a parachute drop of humanitarian aid, that, my friend, is irony writ large.

Darryl Stingley, the pro football player, was paralyzed after a brutal hit by Jack Tatum. Now Darryl Stingley's son plays football, and if the son should become paralyzed while playing, it will not be ironic. It will be coincidental. If Darryl Stingley's son paralyzes someone else, that will be closer to ironic. If he paralyzes Jack Tatum's son, that will be precisely ironic.

I wish a waitress would give me ten thousand spoons when all I need is a knife.

Fun fact: I've used a spoon as a knife before.

It is much worse to need a spoon and only have a knife.
