Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I found a lot of good stuff Saturday. Best thing I found was a Model 1 Genesis in the box (console, power cord, & controller inside) at Goodwill for $20. It's one of the few consoles I didn't have a box for so I had to pick it up. Also got a new Xbox 360 Charge kit for $13.
Earlier in the day I found a Model 1 Genesis w/2 controllers and the power cord for $10, a pristine silver Gamecube w/power cord for $10 (found and extra power cord & A/V cables in a bin of random junk too), Joe Montana Sports Talk Football CIB for $4 (only paid that much because the game holds some sentimental value to me), and Joe Montana & NHL 94 for Sega CD for $5 each (had Rise of the Dragon & Sega Classics Arcade Collection inside instead of the sports games; just wanted the cases anyway as they are near mint) and a SpongeBob Plug & Play for $3.
Off to the next thrift store to find WWF Raw for Xbox for $1, a GBA w/Backyard Baseball for $13, and a Commodore 64 Plug & Play (which I almost didn't see the first 2 passes over the electronics) for $3.
At another thrift I got a GBA SP and a DS carry case for $5, Young Merlin for SNES $4, Elder Scrolls 3 Game of the Year Edition on PC $5, and another GBA for $10. I was really excited to see an NES on the shelf until I noticed the price was $40- some random power cord, 2 controllers, and no RF cable; I'm sure some sucker will buy it though.
At a couple of other thrifts I picked up a PS2 slim power cord for $4, a PS2 controller cord extension cable for $2, PS2 multi-tap $3, and a PS One (system only) for $7. I'm starting to find PS Ones (the slim model) pretty frequently. This is my 4th and the 3rd in the last 2 months.
I need to stop hoarding but it brings a tear to my eye when I pass on good games/systems that I already own just to see them appear at local retail stores the next week for above eBay prices and just sit because most reasonable people won't pay those inflated prices.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I've definitely cut down on the hoarding aspect, and while I still have almost 800 games, my interest/buying has become a lot more specific both in price and what I want added to my collection.

In addition to the 25+ 2600 games I picked up through a trade this weekend, I also grabbed the following at an antique mall:
Casino
Congo Bongo
Entombed
Fantastic Voyage
Fast Food
Fathom
Kaboom!
Smurfs: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle
Spacechase
Winter Games
Warplock
for $35. (Third-party 2600 games always look so unique, and this lot was certainly varied!)

that's a nice lot. i hate finding 2600 games usually because they are all so common, it seems.

Thanks. I just started collecting for the system a few months ago; so, I am buying almost everything. I also had the good fortune to find some relatively rare games at good prices early on. As a result, I have games like London Blitz and Pengo, but I do not have a copy of Ms. Pac-Man...I also like collecting for the system because all of the games are so cheap. It is just like NES collecting 15 years ago!

Does Congo Bongo have a big Sega logo right on the plastic itself? That's what the C64 cart looks like.
