There's no such thing as bike lanes besides very certain areas of the city, and the majority of getting around is based on hitting the highway and then going off to the needed exit. Mix that with it being more spaced out than NYC or Chicago, and much higher speeds over the majority of the city, and bikes are just not viable.

You don't need bike lanes when your bike can reach speeds of 40 mph +. Not sure of the regulations in your area, but kids ride scooters in NC that rival 70 mph.

People with these bikes don't use bike lanes, they use car lanes.

Well, you wouldn't catch me riding a bike or scooter around San Antonio. Screw that.

But I guess you could do it. If you really felt like it. But at the point I'm riding a motorized bike, I'd rather just save up to get a Harley or make a rat bike and roll that way.

Had a doctor's appointment today and got a flu shot. Now that layoffs are done, the company is going through a reorg, so I'm in a new division but still doing the same job and following the same chain of command. My old division has been broken up, but the SVP I've been reporting to has a new, bigger role and made sure to take my department with him.

That said, one of our projects has just cleared, which is cool, but it means I have a bit more work to do with some of my cartoon series. Some shows aren't so bad. Some shows, like Teen Titans Go!, will require a lot more work. Oh well, it's a fun job.

And one of the folks who got laid off just came by to say goodbye. His official last day is tomorrow. I'm sorry to see him go, he was a good guy.

Hrm, bus ride wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Also Burger Boy has some really good burgers.

So my brother tells me to get March 4-8 off, and when I ask why he goes "Your Christmas Present." and nothing further.

So I'm working on getting that time off and meanwhile wracking my brain trying to figure out where he might be taking me My guess is it's something in Vegas, since he's there a couple times a year for work. He's invited me to come along before, and while it'd be cheapish -- I could stay in his room so I wouldn't pay for that, and he'd cover whatever meals I had with him -- I'd be eating alone SOMETIMES and I'd need money to do shit while he was working, plus the plane ticket is a couple hundred... so I haven't taken him up on it (since his bachelor party, I did back then)... this is the first time he's been like "Take this time off".

Mom claims she has a guess, but I told her I wanted to figure it out on my own.

Mostly, I'm waiting 6 weeks or so.

Propaganda Palace is a pretty neat place. Not sure about the prices (seems like one of thsoe 'looks stuff up on ebay' places) but oh my god the stuff there. It's IMPRESSIVE.

I mean they had a PC-FX and **multiple** Vectrexes.

Part of me already misses my Vectrex... but I know it's in a better place
