Watched two movies on BluRay over the last two nights:

District 9: I'd stayed away from all previews and spoilers to date, which made it much better. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Iron Man: My favourite of the Marvel movies to date, and the jump from DVD to BluRay is dead sexy.

We have babysitters organised for the first time in almost forever, so tomorrow the wife and I are off to see Sherlock Holmes in "Gold Class" (dunno if they have these outside of AU - bigger reclining seats, food delievered during the movie, 18+ only so alcohol can be served, etc). The tickets were from work as a thank you for some rather excessive overtime lately, as is the day off to use them. Should be a good day out.

I just saw the Avitar Movie in 3D today with my friends. The movie experience was satisfying. :D though my butt hurts because the movie was long, but worth it.

I may actually go see Avatar by myself tomorrow. I've never had to do that before, but my wife and all of my friends are busy. :(

Screw you.

Anime and Family Guy are a perfectly fine genre and show.

Family Guy isn't meant to be taken seriously so just enjoy the ride and laugh at what you find funny, it's all about poking fun at current events through references and parodies of past popular culture.

As for Anime watch what you want and ignore the crap, it's a very segmented genre with a lot of finely crafted works but don't let the lowest common denominator spewed out by TV stations for marketing fool you into thinking that it's all garbage. Just look at the works of Miyazaki, Gainax, Sunrise, Shirow Masamune, Katsuhiro Otomo and more before you go off and blatantly insult us Anime fans.

screw me? you already did with that 24 seconds of my life from that link I'll never get back.

honestly, I have no beef with anime, just not my thing, didn't mean to touch a nerve.

Now family guy, that is seriously not funny and the most uncreative show I've ever seen. Just sit back and laugh at what you find funny? There is nothing funny about it and I think it's geared towards me, I love the Simpsons, I like Star Wars, that's the whole show, pretend your the Simpsons, but not as witty or original with a Star Wars reference. I know a lot of people that like the show and tried to get me to like it, but I'm with the folks that decided to cancel it the first go around.

My problem with Family Guy is the constant references to various pop culture. Many times Peter has a flashback or whatever and I have no idea what is being referenced, so I dont find it funny. Its weak that the show pretty much relies on other material to make itself funny, VS the Simpsons can be funny to anyone. A pop culture reference every once in a while, but not getting every joke from some other piece of material like Family Guy. The Simpsons is just funny, but Family Guy just makes fun of everything possible.

Anime on the other hand just confuses me. I will say that Akira blew the top off my skull, but not anything besides that. Maybe Spirited Away?

I've always wanted to see Spirited Away...

Family Guy is okay. I'll watch it if its on, but I'm a huge fan of American Dad. Simpsons was awesome back in the day, now its just okay. Not saying it isn't good, I just like the old stuff a lot better.

Anyway, who cares what other people like? If you are into a show, great, if not, who cares? To each his own. :)
