Love it. The synths are so cold and the rapping so heavy.

J T -- I assume you own El-P's FANTASTIC DAMAGE? If not, you have no idea what yr missing (he produced COLD VEIN in its entirety if you were not aware).

The Cold Vein is definitely all by itself with it's sound. So good.

System of a Down - Toxicity

Back when it was new, I heard the freaking thing so much on the radio and at parties as well as friends houses that I grew to hate it.

But hearing it now, after not hearing it for a while, it's actually a pretty good song. Still not the end all, be all of metal that some people were making out to be, but good.

is SOAD considered metal? I'm far from a metal fan. But for some reason, I really like that band. Probably becuz they're fucking WEIRD and their time changes and speed kind of blows my mind.

Men Without Hats Greatest Hits just came in the mail. Only had Rhythm of Youth on cassette before, so it's an upgrade and I actually have Satety Dance and Pop Goes the World in good quality now.

SOAD isn't metal, more of a quriky and kinda proggy hard rock group that has some thrashy influences. They're pretty cool still though, have a very unique sound all their own and are definitely far ahead of their peers imo.

They were always lumped in with the whole "Nu Metal" thing (which despite the moniker, isn't metal at all) despite not really sounding like any of the other bands with that label.

If the overall 'weirdness' and the speed and time changes appealed to you, it makes me wonder if you might like bands like Voivod?
