Went downtown because I was running dangrously low on Pokeballs. There's a lot of stops, three Gyms and a park and walking trail in the area, so it's a nice place to wonder about. I found a nice stop to sit at and activated the Lucky Egg. I had about two-dozen Pokemon I could evolve, so it was a very lucrative time. With all the evolving, catching and the egg hatch, I jumped from level 9 to 13 pretty quickly.

Fought at one Gym, Trained at another and for two, glorious minutes today, I was a Gym Leader.

Of course at that level it didn't last long  but I left my more powerful Jolteon at the same gym a little while later. He only lasted for about 40 minutes or so. Got my defender bonus, though, so yay me  I honestly didn't expect him to last that long, as I saw the three gyms around me changing hands pretty quickly in the 1-2 hours I was there.

New Pokemon gained:

Slowpoke
Jolteon (evolution)
Metapod (evolution)
Kakuna (evolution)
Omanyte (Egg hatch)

Overall, a good day, I think. Not only did I stock up for the week, but I learned that by training and fighting in rival gyms you can raise the CP cap of your Pokemon. I must have missed that tidbit of information before. Oh well.

I learned that Michi is a girl today (and on Team Mystic ), as if I couldn't discern from the name or avatar  Does that get me another level? As far as gym CP cap, unsure if that even happens. It might be if you left a Pokémon at a gym and leveled up and had it return to you, then the CP cap would go up as it normally does? This thread at TSR speculates on that theory.

The Flareon I left at the Level 6 Valor gym at park around 3:00 is still there! The park closes at 11 so it looks like it's in for a long overnight! This will be the longest stint ever!

I already used 8 Ultra Balls getting a 1175 CP Scyther today. I understand you get them at Pokéstops but they come up far less often. I'm also out of Great Balls and at around 100 Pokéballs, so I'm gonna be needing to catch less and stop more.

My 10km egg is also at 7.5km!

I'm not sure whether it was the training, the fighting at rival gyms or me leveling up. All I can say, is that I had two Eevee's that were maxed out on CP. I had enough stardust, but Power Up was no longer an option for either one of them and the little ball that indicates power was all the way over to the right.

The slightly stronger Eevee, I evolved into the Jolteon. The other was set to be a Flareon and was maxed out at 306. I named him Ash. I did not leave Ash at any Gym, but I did train/battle him a few times while I was walking around. As I was going through everything when I got home (transferring my spare Eevee's so I had enough candy to evolve Ash since his power was maxed out), I noticed that instead of the CP meter being maxed out, Ash's meter was now only 2/3 full.

Again, not sure exactly what caused it. But something caused his CP potential to increase. I suspect a couple other Pokemon's CP potential increased as well (I'm pretty sure Electabuzz was closer to 2/3 yesterday morning and not 1/3 it was at when I got home), but I can't be 100% sure on them, since they weren't maxed out before.

I really wish Niantic would provide more information about how things worked. I need a manual, damn it :P

We all need a manual if only to stop all the speculations about the deeper unrevealed things this game has to offer.

Today is a restock day (as is Wednesday and Friday) so I was able to get a lot more balls (and Ultra Balls do come out of Pokéstops, just not as often).

The Flareon at the park gym lasted till midnight! Unfortunately the gym isn't completely inside the park, rather it's at a corner with sidewalks near the fences so anyone who lives on those streets wouldn't have to be IN the park to take it over.

The only action I did today was level up a Valor gym to 4, and my choice is unconventional for a gym, but he's got Sludge Bomb, one of the more powerful Poison attacks in the game.

On the way back, my 10km egg hatched. Nothing rare or exciting, just a Pinsir over 1000CP, with 2 Fighting attacks

Went to the movies today. On the way there we passed by a couple Gyms and I dropped a couple Pokemon at them. Went to the shop to pick up my bonus, and learned that the countdown timer from yesterday was still active. Twenty minutes later, and my Pokemon were still there and I managed to pick up my bonus. Not sure how long they lasted, since they'd been kicked out by the end of the movie, but they were there at least a good half hour. I suspect they were both booted once church let out

I know, right? Just tell me how everything works already, Niantic. I'm getting tired of reading contradictory How To/explanation articles.

I saw and caught my first Pinsir today. It's CP was 92. So you shut your pie-hole, Mr. Level 20

Tentacruel and the gang are still at the pole! (still @ Level 4). I think the afternoon thunderstoms that roll through here nearly every day help. I expect that to change tonight.

I caught a whole mess of Pinsirs, so it wasn't really that great. I was hoping for something exciting, and then I realized that not everyone has a Pinsir.

Finally, to sum up the epic Red vs Blue struggle that has started since the beginning of time, now extended into this game:

Server is playing games again where it decides it no longer wants to register screen touches -- grr. Lost out on a few pokestops and a pokemon or two over it today, and in turn through the end of it I'm not OUT of pokeballs. I'm not paying.

I did end up yesterday though before popping on the freeway home netting a Gloom. Today the two notable was a Nidoking then a Wartortoise which was cool to see...still no squirtle the only missing of the starters for me. That Nidoking is beefy upwards of 550~ don't remember exactly. Also I got burned on my egg because of the server, had a 2K walker and it tried to hatch on a no-touch, came back, nothing new, no egg, got screwed.

Nidoking! Nice, they're one of the better rated as far as HP goes. I got a better Nidoran Female than the one I previously had today. The only thing holding me back from more gym battles is a lack of potions (around 30 total amongst the 3 types for now), but I did get around 50 regular balls today so that's good.

As of right now, my Tentacruel and the others at Valor's Pole Gym are still going strong! This matches the 9 hours I had my Flareon at "Parcourse Park" gym last night. Will it last overnight? We'll see!

Hit level 15 and have found a dramatic change in pokeball usage. I am VERY low on these items at this point, because pokemon are much more likely to run away or require several throws. Strange to see resource management hit so hard.
