I have nothing to add and will make minor tweaks later.
I have enjoyed the past 4 pages. Immensely.

I do agree that we can just lump Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 into one entry.
Oh and Captain Rainbow should be #1 with Sonic Colors followed in second place. Now if only the Wii could play Sonic Boom.

A little surprised that no Brawl or Mario Kart, but then, those usually get surpassed by sequels. I know the Wii U one is certainly better, and MK Wii is generally considered one of the weaker ones... so I guess I'm not surprised at all in hindsight.
Could have sworn I posted earlier in this thread, but I suppose not. I wouldn't be against merging Mario Galaxy into a single entry. Both are fantastic, of course, but if we've got MP Trilogy on there, I say we can play fast and loose with the rules. Besides, MG2 is, in many ways, an expansion pack to the first game. An amazing expansion pack, but definitely an expansion pack.
Exhuminator, I just picked up a Wii copy of DKCR. Definitely see your issues with the waggle. I'm not having issues with phantom inputs, but it slows me down considerably. I plan on trying it out with the patch, that way I get the best of both worlds, decent controls and visual fidelity.
I think Colors, from what I've played of it, is certainly good enough to include. I also think NSMB Wii was wonderful. I was less impressed with NSMBU, for whatever reason. I'm not sure why.
I'm curious, is this list in any particular order yet, or kinda arbitrary? I know everyone seems to love Xenoblade, but The Last Story is one of the best RPGs I've played in years. Absolutely fantastic. Pandora's Tower is unique, but I'm not sure I like it nearly as much as the other two Operation Rainfall titles.

Personal anecdotes about which game was more interesting or enjoyable.Flake wrote:But what criteria are we applying that doesn't show Super Mario Wii coming out ahead? Units sold? Ubiquity with the system? Critical success?Exhuminator wrote:Sonic Colors just goes on the list because it's goddamn awesome. Jesus told me that and you can't deny what Jesus says.
NSMB Wii is a good game, but felt very much "by the numbers" for me. The most creative thing it added was four-player multiplayer, but other games on Wii do that too and the fact that they used two Toads for characters is symbolic of how creativity wasn't taken quite far enough. Sonic Colors broke a string of bad Sonic games, had more interesting gameplay (even if it's not more refined) and just seemed to be more exciting. Maybe it's unfair to say that low expectations going in make Sonic a better choice than Mario... but them's the breaks.
The whole point of this list is that it's not a numbers game - otherwise there is no point in us making a list, people could just go look at Metacritic or VGChartz or whatever other source they prefer.
So we all agree that Ghost Squad deserves to be ranked #1?

See, who can argue logic like that?Exhuminator wrote:Only if you're playing the mode where you're shooting bikini girls with dolphin blasters.ejamer wrote:So we all agree that Ghost Squad deserves to be ranked #1?
And don't forget: it's only available on Wii. Doesn't get much better than that.
As someone who loves light gun games, having them re-introduced on Wii was fantastic and one of the highlights of the entire generation. Titles like Ghost Squad, House of the Dead, Dead Space Extraction, Resident Evil Chronicles and many others were a godsend.

As stated earlier Rhythm Heaven Fever and Sky Crawlers need to be on at least the honorable mention list.
Also, I complete agree with Flake on expanding it to 30 games. Anyone and everyone can and will make a top 25 or top 50 list. This is Racketboy.com however and we are the best and beg to be different.
