Fuckin great start though jep, 158m is no joke. How did this run look, outside the final boss? How long were you able to keep your multiplier at a high level? Did you get a lot of the lanterns?

The lanterns would be adding a ton of score for me, but I always miss the ones coming up to the extend, because I am so focused on just getting another life to beat Larsa. But, if you can get each one, they end up being worth tens of millions near the end, which is a huge contribution to the score.

Thanks dunpeal. I started using bombs in the second half of stage 3 when all those big beetles come out, and kind of used bombs sporadically through stages 4 and 5, so I never triggered fever mode or kept too high of a counter.

I've never really payed much attention to the lanterns in stage 5. Kind of like the bee locations in dodonpachi, I can't get myself to memorize their locations. I tend to just focus on the enemies. That Stage 5 music though, great stuff!

Dang, Joe. Here I was feeling all warm and fuzzy with a "decent" score on stage 5 and y'all are definitely pushing me...and I glad for it!

Can't wait until this weekend to give it some more time.

Ugh - had a great run going and then biffed it on 3rd boss first form, still had the counter around 12,000, so didn't want to bomb...biffed it again...then panic bombed my way through...ugh ugh ugh. Ended up at stage 4 boss and 78 mil :/

I put in a few runs last night. They were all terrible. For some reason the screenshots weren't working in UME for me. But as my best run was 11M, I wasn't too upset about not grabbing a screenshot...

The difference in scoring mechanic between 1.5 and black label took me back a bit. I know in 1.5 Original it's big gems when your big counter's third digit is 0-4 and use shot to kill enemies, and 5-9 and use laser, but in black label it seems to be different. In black label I just listen to the audio cue, the sound when you get an extend in 1.5 is the sound that chimes when the big gems switch from shot to laser and vice versa in black label.

Was also happy to see a new Shiki 3 Viewlix-style cab there today, might give it a bash next time.

Was carrying a load of crap in my other hand, hence the shaky phone pic.
