How does one get Mushi Futari 1.5 - is that XBLA or a physical release that works on US consoles?

Its a physical release, but all versions are region free.

You can download the Black Laberl dlc to your us account from live.com by searching "Mushihimesama hutari black lavel"

However, Guwange is a great choice, and should noit be shouldered because its not on a DVD-R or whatever :P

I'm going to give DDP-R one more go tonight - see if I can't hit 3mil.

I plan on diving into Mushi Futari 1.5 after that, seeing as there is already an existing thread, and it sounds like more people have that, than have Guwange.

Just for "planning" purposes - i'd love to jump on MMP and/or PS beginning in September.

Is it safe to assume yr sourcing a 360, Chaz?

Hmmm... I'm still unsure man. I'd have to let at least one board go.

Heh I guess I could play Futari and finally try to 1CC it. But Guwange is a great and cheaper option for those that don't have Futari. Honestly, while I might prefer Futari overall, Guwange is more interesting. Definitely not your standard CAVE shooter.

I figure I'd take a break from V-V and try my hand at this since I have it now.

I suck at Cave shmups, so I'd better get working on improving my skills.

My first effort:

Oh, can anyone tell me why in the hell the combo counter goes backwards instead of tallying my score!?

I have no idea how scoring works in this game.

Every second you aren't killing something...your counter begins to count down.

It is important to time mid-boss and other kills so that you are constantly killing stuff.

If your counter hit zero, then you have to start a new chain.

Also, power shot / reg shot - some enemies require to be killed by one or the other, if your blasting an enemy and your score is going down, try to remember what type it is and switch your shot.

Aha.

So, say if I have a high combo, like 1,000+, how do I just end it and collect those points?

Let your hyper build to full but don't use it to apply your chain. Failing to keep the chain up in this mode will loose your chain entirely.

You never really cash em in though, the goal is to full chain each stage.
