Um, that pic used to get posted in response to Izzy all the time, so it was a nice reminder/good post. That's why I put the +1. It's a blast from the past.
I think our shoes are fine, I think this thread has very fittingly spun out into several directions, and I don't know what the problem is, what "carrying on" is taking place, what needs to be put to rest, etc. The thread is fine, everyone's views have generally been respected, and people who have wanted to have had their say about Izzy's banning or anything else related.
Yeah, it was intended to be a lighthearted tip of the hat...nothing more.
In a lot of ways I can relate to Inazuma because my posts have not always been in line with popular opinion either. I think that what he was missing was a willingness to accept that perhaps he doesn't hold all the secrets of the universe. His posts seem to indicate that he feels godlike and superior to everyone else (ie: "If you would only listen to me you might learn what is right.") who might disagree and it is because of this pompous attitude that I can totally understand him being banned. I certainly don't think it was because of his alternative views because as you can see from this thread they weren't as alternative as one might assume. I have had my share of disagreements on the boards myself and although I have made a mistake or lost my temper here and there I still think it is important not to condescend to others and allude to superiority of intellect.
In any case I'm not trying to bash the guy at all. He is who he is....just not a particularly good fit for the community that is intended here apparently. I used to use the curious dog with him a lot and it was kind of my goodbye to him.
i'm not gonna read through 14 pages, but i never once had a problem with inazuma or ever thought he was a problem...ever.
my first hint that people didn't care for his posts was this past summer/fall when Flake made the comment that he blocked inazuma so he wouldn't have to read his posts. and i think a few people might have agreed with him.
if it wasn't for flake's initial post this would have been a HUGE surprise. but still, even after knowing this i still couldn't find anything wrong with what he posted.
This thread is long enough and enough days have passed. I say let Inazuma come back.
I don't think ANYONE here actually doesn't like the guy. Yeah, I felt offended by some of the stuff he typed, but none of it was at the level where I felt any sort of disdain for the guy. That wasn't even in any retro video game related threads (which is the entire point of this thread). It was all, to my knowledge, in politics, social issues or modern gaming (especially DLC or legalize type stuff). All side issues here.

I can confirm that I don't like Inazuma on a personal level. Opinion-wise I found myself agreeing with him half the time, and disagreeing the other half. But it was the way he carried himself that really pissed me off. For someone as against religious dogmatism he was knee deep in his own dogmatism; the only way I could tell him apart from a Westboro member was he didn't claim we were all going to hell.
Let me make this perfectly clear. If he actually added more to this site then he took away, we probably wouldn't have banned him. But he was poisonous to this community. His "contributions" to many discussions derailed threads and got every member of the moderation team lots of PMs wondering why he wasn't banned yet. This is not some oppression by the evil moderators. The fact that YOU might have liked him doesn't change the fact that we're better off without him.

I think CRT had mentioned a poll. We don't need to do a poll. The mods aren't making stuff up. Some folks simply don't want to post, "I did not like him. He made this site uncomfortable for me." And then get trolled into some argument - not everyone wants to post something that will be percieved as a negative, and logically, those folks are the most likely to have been upset by some horrid things he wrote. I see a lot of excuse-making for his arguments, "his one flaw was that he just couldn't accept other views...". Nope. Tha'ts crap actually. We all have flaws, we all make posts we regret - we all get caught up in debate. That happens and most of us are ok with that. He posted dangerous things. Unsettling things. Exposing young children to pornography was probably the worst in my opinion - but there were many.
For those that like him, that's great. Go play MK7 or visit him on izzheboy.com

Inazuma said "cool". Leaving any negative comments towards the guy is simply cowardly (and Inazuma will be the first to tell you I don't agree with half of his opinions). I cannot stress enough that Izzy respects the mods decision and although he appreciates the support, he wants people to move the f*** on. You have his email address, contact him if you'd like.
Now seriously, can someone pull up a TOP 10 Inazuma game list or something to get this thread back on a gaming topic? Maybe guess Inazuma's top 3?
