The AI, difficulty, and slow-mo weren't nearly as good compared to the original in my opinion, but other than that I thought it was still one of the better shooters and sequels I've played this gen. A huge improvement over the first game was that it had a lot more varied environments too...and damn those mech segments were amazing.

Guess that's a good point about the FEAR expansions, they were pretty solid. FEAR is pretty damn simplistic, simple corridor shooting FPS with some nice atmosphere, so it'd be hard to mess up... hopefully 3 is good. I'll be looking forward to see what people think of it.

But on that note, I really want to know what the heck Monolith has been doing all this time. Shogo 2!?!?

Or a new Condemned might be cool, 2 was atrocious though, especially story wise later on and really funked up a lot of stuff that made the first game great I thought.

Doom/2/3. I managed to grab the collectors edition of Doom 3 for next to nothing, mainly because I wanted nice console ports of 1/2. I've been playing Doom 2 mainly but Doom 3 is a nice change of pace.

Still halfway through OPF Red River, solid so far but nothing the series/genre haven't delivered before.

Got around to finishing Bulletstorm. It had some fun moments but the story was pretty bad.

I don't have $5 to spend on the Steam version.

Anybody know of a place where I could get it for free with modernized controls?

I love Heretic.

I'd like to see it get released on Xbla, alongside Doom.

I tried to get into Heretic, it's not bad... but it's just Doom with a less awesome coat. I still have a hundred some megawads of Doom to play so playing Heretic just gave me a craving for more superior Doom.

I might have to give the Hexen games a shot though.

CFFJR: Doom WAS on XBLA, I know it got taken down awhile ago, possibly permanently. Sorry. :( ... was a half-assed port anyways, the DN3D port was 10x better with way more features and work put into it, more customizable controls/sensitivity, etc, in fact eDuke's been crashing on me lately (DNF gave me a craving to back and replay DN3D!) so I might just go back and play it on the 360. Grab Doom 2 though, the XBLA exclusive episode was pretty awesome.

Got all the achievements for all three games, heh. Doom 2 on UV was super easy for me after some of the WAD's I've played, haha. Doom was more challenging though, namely because of the lack of the double shotgun and you get those item resets for every episode, the first level of episode 4 was fucking insane. But I pulled it off eventually.

For a hard official Doom release though, Plutonia can be a bitch. Not a huge fan anyways, those level designers just abused the hell out of chaingunners. TNT was pretty easy though.
