I must be really out of the loop, when did comic books start having trailers? Not loving the narrator

Agreed, but I like to think I'm supporting good writing when buying Whedon's material and not just buying a comic. Same with anything Lynch writes.

I'm revisiting SECRET WARS. Wow. So cliche, but still a lot of fun.
Doom is one bad ass mofo in that one.

I finished Justice League # 1. It kind of left me wanting more. Not much happened really. It just introduced a few characters and didn't do much else. On the plus side though, it featured Batman on like ninety percent of the pages. In fact, the issue pretty much starts with Batman. He's the first hero we get see. I'll give it a thumbs up for that being the big Batman fan that I am

This is why I like trades. Sometimes a single issue of a comic book just doesn't have enough content to satisfy. Justice League # 1 ends just when it's starting to get interesting. The art was good though and I enjoyed seeing Batman be Batman. Right off the bat it's clear that he's smarter than....well.....everyone. I guess you can't do much with a first issue of a reboot. You haven't really given readers anything to invest in yet because you need to get character introductions out of the way first before you can get the story going. I think I was just spoiled by Angel and Faith # 1 which had two revelations, introduced two new villains, brought back a character from the past, introduced one new hero, had a shout out to Angel's run in IDW, AND had some action to boot. That one issue covered a lot of ground and left me satisfied like I just had a good meal

Then it did it's job as a first issue.

Yeah, I guess so. I'm definitely getting the next issue. I just couldn't help but feel that this issue was just a tease. They didn't really get to the good stuff yet, but next issue should be great with the showdown they set up

I've actually been a big Justice League fan through the Justice League cartoon and Justice League Unlimited so this is actually a fun opportunity to actually get more involved with the actual comics. Before this, the only Justice League stories I ever read were two graphic novels. If I'm just one example, DC has succeeded with this relaunch. By resetting everything they've taken away any excuses I have had for not picking up some DC books. I don't have to worry about being caught up with everything because it's all new now

This reboot can also serve as an easy entry point for people who were interested in comics but were too intimidated with everything that was going on, or not up to date with all the latest happenings. Personally, I hadn't been to my comic shop in years. The last comic I bought was when Benes was still working with Simone on Birds of Prey (issue 70 was my last, I think). So when I heard DC was going to be starting from one again it caught my attention.

Justice League #1 was well done; got readers interested an' looking forward to the next issue. Good start, imo.

Yeah, this reboot finally gives me a reason to get some Batman books, which I've wanted to do for a very long time. They're selling well in my area. I went to pick up Batgirl #1 and Batman and Robin #1 and they were sold out. Justice League # 1 was already in its second print run at my local comic shop

In other comic book news, they just released a preview of Angel and Faith # 2. I'm so excited :D

My girl's got her own little posse of slayers it looks like. Plus, a certain brooding vampire watching her back from the shadows. It's all so very Buffy-ish where Faith is in her life right now

Anyone looking for a truly good read should check out the new Punisher run...I love what they have done with issues #1 - 3...they have been pretty good. It's been so hard to find the new DC number ones but it gives me an excuse to go out to the comic shop and "look" for the new number ones. It lead to me finding DC's "Identity Crisis", which is one of the best most moving comics I have ever read.

Heading to the shop early on Wednesdays has worked consistently for me in getting the new #1's; though this week I started ordering online with Midtown Comics. It's much cheaper online, lol.

From what I've been told even DC is surprised with how well the new 52 is doing.

Here is my quick take on the first week (not counting the JL week) of the DCnU books: http://www.spacebooger.com/2011/09/12/l ... 52-week-1/
I loved Morrison's new take on Superman and O.M.A.C. was a fun old school mindless smash-fest.
