I know ICO got some upgrades in the Euro release, but what about Shadow of the Colossus? Did Japan or Europe get any exclusives on the remakes? I have been looking for the Japanese Best Edition of the PS2 version, maybe it just might have extra stuff? If so, maybe the PS3 remake also has additional gameplay as ICO did with Yorda.

Gamerforlife wrote:I love these PS 3 collections being actual retail releases. This is so much better than just getting some digital only, HD version of games like Rez, Radiant Silvergun, Beyond Good and Evil, etc.
I love having the Sly Collection sitting on my shelf, soon to be joined by this Ico/SOTC Collection. Eventually, I'll get the God of War collection too probably. I've only held off on that because it's not one of my favorite games/series.
Agreed about having the actual physical disc. I'll pay $40 (and did) so hopefully they continue to fund these HD collections. Metal Gear Solid Collection is the next one for me, but I am going to pick up the back-releases like Sly and Prince of Persia.

Picked it up today, just when my interest in gaming was waning too. I really love that they did this awesome HD package and included the Euro features too

Just ordered my copy of this from Amazon. Should be here in a few days.
I know that the HD collection is using the European version of ICO so it has a 2-player co-op mode and translated subtitles on repeat playthroughs. But is there anything else I may not have heard of?

I really don't' see the issue people have with the cover.
I mean hey, they could've used the US release art for ICO.

True that AppleQueso, true that...
And speaking of Ico, I'm a little ashamed to say, but I'm already stuck, and I'm only on the first hour! I refuse to look up a guide, but I need a hint. I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to light the stick.
I see lanterns around the area, bombs, and what looks like barrels of gunpowder? Everytime I get close to a lantern, interacting with it won't light the stick. Am I getting this puzzle completely wrong or something, or am I just stupid?

One of my many many problems with Ico is that often the game requires you to stand somewhere pixel-perfect to get something to happen or to wait for an animation to trigger that takes far too long. Other times, it is just downright buggy.
That said, I seem to recall that you have to have specific sticks to light the torches, your regular beating stick won't do. Do you have the right stick?

Honestly given the option wouldn't you rather have the beautiful art we were allowed or just the crap that is used to sell games to people that just buy games because of what they see on the box?

I saw about 4 other sticks leaning against a wall, so I switched my beating stick for one of those. I've tried going to lanterns, but maybe I was just angled wrong. Thanks for the help, and hopefully I'll be able to do this simple task.

I'm very excited to play through Ico again in HD. I've tried to go through it again before but the graphics were killing me (I play on a 100+ inch screen now, back when I got Ico originally I was on a 31inch CRT). I'm particularly excited about this being based on the PAL version because we all know what that means.....light saber!!!!!
I fired up SOTC the other night to check out the improvements and it was fantastic. Graphics are very sharp now and the framerate was just terrific. I am going to enjoy taking down all the colossi even more this time. SOTC is one of my all time favorite games that no one else ever gets lol
I'm a huge Team ICO fan so this collection is right up my alley.
