Yo, yeah I better give an update on my progress then. Nothing major, but I'm several hours in and definitely getting the hang of the game. I think I can definitely say at this point I like it a lot. So far, I really like using spears... I guess I'm playing it safe by keeping my distance and all, but it's working for me. I do have Heal which is awesome. I knew about the weight limits, but you suggest the equipment is below 50%? ... hmm, that I will have to double check next time I start it up.

I'm currently at the spider boss, annoying stuff. I've got a compound bow and tried using that but it wasn't doing anything. The most annoying thing is when I get up and close, it's kind of hard to tell where exactly I need to be to actually hit the thing, then it just wails on me...

I've gotten a little into the Shrine of Storms too which has been great for soul farming and stuff.

I say all that, then tear up the Tower Knight and the spider. For some reason the spider's downward strike kept on hitting me previously all the time no matter what, even though it looked like it shouldn't... and then this time it never hit me and I pretty much just stood there bashing it's face in. Weird...

How the heck do you deal with these fire bugs?

I went the weird way down the mine shaft so I always came up behind the big bear bugs. Either way they just take awhile to kill and have a high magic defense.

Protip run when they die but I'm guessing you've figured that out by now.

Prepare yourself for Flamelurker!

By the way, there's a shortcut you can take to skip pretty much the entire 2-2 area and go straight to the boss. But you should fully explore the area first obviously to collect loot and whatnot.

The shortcut also is a good way to get yourself killed.

Man that level freaking sucks now though. What's a good landing stat to take that shortcut easily? Just hit 5 myself.

The Flamelurker doesn't seem too bad though, I got him down to half on my first attempt. But I just didn't want to run through those damn caves again to try it for now. Since then I've gotten the Flute Armor, and I just took out the Adjudicator who was really easy... leveled up a good bit making it all the way through that. I think the Shrine of Storms is my favorite level so far. I can one shot the skeletons now with a heavy hit. The black ones are still annoying, but not too bad.

I still haven't taken out that big fat thing near the beginning though.

Once you memorize the points you need to land on, your falling stat doesn't really matter. It'll take some getting used to but it's better than having to run through the entire level every time in my opinion.

Shrine of Storms is the shit. Sounds like you're getting a better footing on the game, that's cool. It's just a rough start since you're just thrown into the fire right off the bat with no guidance, but once you get rolling it's not so bad.

So you haven't gone to the Tower of Latria or the Valley of Defilement yet?

Those squid monster things in the Tower of Latria instantly destroyed me when I checked out the level a few days ago, but now they're... pathetic, lol (gotta love the trial and error in this game). So I was making some progress in that level finally just a bit ago. Not sure if I'll like it though, or at least the first area. Talk about a damn maze and keys everywhere. The atmosphere is super cool in that stage though.

Haven't touched the last level, dunno if my balls are big enough yet.
