What kind hint is that? that didn't help at all. I have looked through thousands of pics of game scan my eyes are bleeding.

I figured that it would reveal the color palette and it would be a "unique" continue screen.

But, ok, here's another hint - in the interest of moving to the next picture!

Hint 3: the game was released in Japan in 1990

Hey someone got it! Congrats!

The first screen was designed to be tricky - when you lose your last life the screen fades to black - this was taken during that process. Still, you can make out the shapes and if you know the game... well done!

Next one later tonight.

That was a cheap move. I looked up all PC-Engine games released in 1990 and even looked at that game. Well at least I knew it was a newer game then the pic made it seem.
