I've been a big fan of Street Fighter for years, ever since it first came out in the arcades (1992?). My favorite for awhile was Street Fighter II Turbo for the SNES. (Genesis versions of fighters pissed me off because of the 3 button controller). Until I played perhaps the best SF out of all the releases, Street Fighter Zero 3 for Saturn. The Saturn is blessed with an AMAZING controller. I just love the D-pad. The gameplay/graphics/animation/fighting modes/characters of Zero3 is still unmatched.

I have played SF III ThirdStrike and was very impressed with the tactical fighting making it a more technical fighting game than any other Street Fighter that I know. However, I own it for the PS2 and the PS2 controller has one of the worst D-pads ever designed, making games like Street Fighter almost unplayable and not enjoyable.

Well, this topic is about SFIV and the truth is...I never played it! If the SFIV keeps the same exact fighting gameplay like its older 2-D brothers, eventually when I find a inexpensive price for the game, I will purchase it but for now I am only a fan of the original 2-D Street Fighters

It plays very similar to Super Turbo. The biggest difference is that the jump physics are a bit more "realistic", which can throw you off a bit. But SF4 is definately not a 3D fighter like how Tekken or Soul Calibur are.

In response to Omer's post...

No - SFIV is CRAP compared to the games you mention. Read Sirlin's bolg... the game rewards you for being SHIT with 'ultra' cut scenes which look the BOLLOCKS but just FUCK UP the gameplay and momentum of matches... get SSF2THDR instead and just hop that they fix the online KNOBCHEESE bugs.

I'm proud of the knobcheese comment... it's underrated as an adjective.

After months of playing this... this game isn't as great as it first was.

After getting over all the graphics, new characters and the fact that it's a new Street Fighter, it does not stack up all that great against the previous games.

The game is pretty unbalanced compared to 2 and 3. I don't like the fighting system or some of the cancels. Other things should have been kept from Street Fighter 3 and other things should have been removed.

Overall, this game just ends up pissing me off. I rarely have fun playing this anymore.

I have much more fun playing 3rd Strike or simply Street Fighter 2. At least this game is better than EX3...

It's a beautiful game with a creative art style but... it doesn't really have a long appeal.

Just tried it, runs like garbage on my PC, but that is to be expected when your running a garbage video card.

The game is beautiful, and its not as complex as SF3, it's not necessarily a bad thing. The new characters (excluding Seth) do not just seem like random additions, as Abel is my favorite (though not best) fighter.

The online play is pretty good too when you don't get cheap ass players.

Hmm I missed the drop...I am curious to how poor of a box you can get it to run on.
