Very nice, especially getting it with that keypad with the inlay! I love Star Raiders on the 5200, a good combination of strategy and basic space flight shooting. I have yet to obtain the 2600 version, should pick up StarMaster as well.BoneSnapDeez wrote:
^ $4 at Goodwill. Pretty cool. My first Atari game that isn't loose.
The "antenna" is a light gun sensor for games such as Duck Hunt. It works the same way as the light gun pistol often included with the PowerJoy set. There is actually a good assortment of games on the bootleg Famicoms. Did yours come with the cart slot underneath?CamaroCam wrote:Sounds like you might have a different model than the one I've got. Mine has around 70-80 straight up NES ports. Of course, they made a few different models. Mine looks like a N64 controller, and the one you have looks a tad like a DC controller. Same light-gun, though.Fragems wrote:Since you've played on similar systems in the past I was wondering. Do you have any ideas why there is an antenna on the back of it? Has me somewhat puzzled lol.
Was surprised by the quality though. The hardware feels really cheap and light plus the title screen looks like crap, but the games themselves are actually really decent ports in most cases. Although he was a little liberal with the sprites in some games. Laughed my butt off when I fired up the digimon and pokemon games and found donkey kong, mario bros, and etc. with altered sprites. Might have to upload some gameplay to you tube sometime.
Couldn't tell you for the life of me why it has an antenna, though. Perhaps it could just be for aesthetics?
Check out the index, I posted a couple different Articles concerning the PowerJoy series. Feel free to add to the Guide with a review of your PowerPlay if you like.

Mario Sunshine Guide - $2.00 BookOff
There are a lot of Game Guide books going for two bucks at BookOff. I only buy the ones for games I really want to play thru and unlocking all the hidden extras. One can easily read on online Guide, but sometimes fun kicking back and flipping thru the pages.
MS Ancient Lands - $2.00 $1.00 Rummage Sale
There is a local charity group that holds once a year Rummage Sale, a huge event. Unfortunately I could not make it on Saturday, went thru the pickings on Sunday. At least everything left over was 1/2 off.
Another medium that went online, Reference Encyclopedias. I have a lot of the MS Home Reference discs with MS Musical Instruments and Dinosaurs my favorites. Think DK Books with active boxes everywhere to click for info, pics and video clips.
DVD Andromeda Strain - $5.00 BookOff
Owned the Widescreen Laser Disc version for years, nice to get an upgraded video in Anamorphic Widescreen. I like the remake, but the original is still my favorite.
DS Action Replay - 2.00 $1.00 Rummage Sale
I think this was also categorized as computer software, a very nice price!
Samurai Jack Collection - $15.00 Each / $60.00 Set BookOff
As an owner of the "Movie" which is just a few episodes, I really have been wanting to buy the Samurai Jack DVD set for quite some time. Never can find a good deal so finally caved in and bought this pristine set. This was better then risking an online purchase, everything is absolutely crisp and it looks like the previous owner just collected it without playing just to own the series.
One thing I would like to get is the expanded soundtrack, the music is very well done. There is a rip of the "Movie" online, I'm keeping an eye out for the official CD that has songs from all the episodes.
Anyone who has not seen Samurai Jack, maybe at least look at the preliminary Movie disc. In addition to the story of Jack's beginnings, there is a great episode titled "Jack and the Scotsman". For a cartoon, it really drew me in. I already went thru the first volume set living thru worlds with Jack, damn the animation is very very good. This series definitely resonates with a good set of speakers rumbling the soundtrack in the background while sinking into the stories.
