Saw Avatar in 3D last night. As everyone said, just by breathing the air of the people who had seen the showing before you the plot could be guessed. I'm still not sure it was worth $13.25 to see, but it did look awesome and I was out with friends, so it was cool. I'm not sure I need to see it again though with its napkin scrawl plot.
There were 2 things that bothered me though. Did they really have to call it unobtanium? I swear that must have been written down as a placeholder an not changed later. The waterfalls. Yes they looked cool, but it broke my suspension of disbelief every time there was one on screen due to the impossible nature of them.
What was the last movie you've seen?

I just finished watching "Jennifer's Body".
I was kind of apprehensive going in, since it was written by Diablo Cody. As expected, the dialog was pretty ridiculous, but I actually really enjoyed it. It was a heck of a lot better than "Juno", that's for sure!

While I cannot endorse your use of Caps-Lock, I can second your recommendation of "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang".

I'm pretty sure he (Cameron) used unobtanium as an inside joke because he needed a mineral which basically did what the scientific term "unobtanium" is supposed to posit. (But I'm glad the movie only uses the word once, rather than spending five minutes to explain why its called that.)Hobie-wan wrote: There were 2 things that bothered me though. At least that is what the script makes it out to be.

They said it about 5 times. Though they did glaze over its description a bit.Luke wrote:I'm pretty sure he (Cameron) used unobtanium as an inside joke because he needed a mineral which basically did what the scientific term "unobtanium" is supposed to posit. I wouldn't really call "unobtainium" a "scientific term." It's just a nerdy joke.Luke wrote:

Indeed. If it were a funny movie, it would have fit.Limewater wrote:I wouldn't really call "unobtainium" a "scientific term." It's just a nerdy joke.Luke wrote:
