PCTotal: 73Skyward Sword was an absolutely fantastic game, and may rate as my favourite zelda game of all time. It's definitely my favourite Wii game. In fact, as of right now, I would rate it as one of my favourite games ever. I just loved every moment of it, I rarely got frustrated yet it wasnt TOO easy, it set out a path for you to follow, but still rewarded you for exploration, and the controls, for me, were just perfect. If all motion controlled games played like this, I wouldn't have any problems with them become far more prevalent. The story kept me interested, the bosses were fun and sometimes challenging and for me, the true sign that this was a great game was that after I finished, I wanted to immediately start again. I'd have to say that this has replaced Ghost Trick as my favourite game I've played this year, which is a shame because this is such an obvious AAA (I hate that term :S) mainstream choice and Ghost Trick needs more love, but is true nonetheless.
Sam and Max 204 was a decent entry in the series. It featured time travel and allowed you to go back and forward upsetting time and fixing it again to solve puzzles. I did enjoy some call back to earlier Sam and Max games, particularly some of the season 1 episodes, and there were some knowing jokes which made me laugh. The best of which was when one character early on asked 'Are you a bad enough president to save the dude?!'. Some of the humour was a little more blunt than usual though, with several rather unsubtle innuendos and double entendres cropping up, which hasn't been the case for most of the other games. They were still funny, but I dunno, out of place seeming perhaps? Anyhow, this was a good, but not great episode. Doesn't rival Night of the Raving Dead (203) for best in this series, but is definitely ahead of Moai Better Blues (202). One more left to finish up Season 2, and then I can try Sam and Max: The Devil's Playhouse.
