It's MtV. Obviously the message went over the producers heads.
I've been off my music high horse for quite some time now, and although you'll usually find me listening to classical music, I don't hate pop like I did years ago. It's only bubblegum junk made for pinwheels, so might as well enjoy it for what it is worth.
That said, I can not stand "drunk in love". I keep thinking about the Swedish Chef saying "My surfed bort. Bort bort bort!"
I've been watching Outlander, which is a new series from writer/producer Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) based on the books of Diana Gibaldon. So far, it's really good. As would be expected from the names involved, it's very well written. The settings are gorgeous, and the acting is great. I think they found the perfect woman for Claire, the female lead. She embodies that perfect mix of intelligence, wit, resourcefulness, and sexiness. I have high hopes for this series.
Holy balls, how did this show ever air on a non-premium cable channel? It is vulgar as hell. But that's what you get with Louis CK. I love his stand up.
I do want to say that I find the show to be amazing on more than a comedy level. The show does an amazing job of depicting a middle aged, average looking, social awkward guy trying to make sense of his life as his career is on the down slope. The show is all together honest, disgusting, hilarious, sad, and heartwarming.
Also, we have been watchign The Killing on Netflix. It probably one of the best murder mystery shows I've ever seen. Instead of each episode having a different story, this show has one long story arch that has spilled over into the second season, out of five (I haven't seen it all, it may be the same story over the whole show). It starts out as a search to find the killer of a teenage girl but quickly spirals out into a much larger issue. As far as I know none of the actors are terribly famous, which I like because it gives the show a more authentic feel. I highly recommend checking it out.
