Hey Dave at least you didn't have as bad of luck as this guy.

The grinding CD drive seems to be the problem people are experiencing.

I read in the news that XboxOne sold 1m units, just as much as PS4, yet the XBO doesn't seem to be getting credit .

I am interested in Killer Instinct and Dead Rising , but not enough to purchase the system especially considering the price. For people who got the system , did you get the feeling that this is "next-gen" , or did you feel it was just a simple upgrade?

I also saw the PS4 with my friend, yes it looks very flimsy and cheap, but in all honesty, who cares. You won't even touch the thing and neither do you have to look at it. You can install it at the back of your TV and switch it on/off through the controller.

The faulty drive is a huge issue. I talked about this before, its just not acceptable to ship stuff like this. In the US you might feel ok because you can get replacement, in other parts of the world like where I am, if I purchase it faulty then I have to purchase another . No support, no return policy, no warranties/Guarantee , no nothing. When my 360 RRODed I had to ship it to my friend who is studying in the US through DHL, shipping one way was $185 (I might was well buy a new one) . I used the equivalent of USPS , I paid something around $100 for 2 way shipping.

Will put pics later but thoroughly enjoying it the set-up was easy but a bit slow because it was due to my WiFi router being a bit older but after that it was just getting used to the new tiles that was the learning curve.

The QR scanning worked better than expected without resorting to bringing the code up close all I did while lounging held it up and it scanned the code. Voice recognition worked about 90% of the time. My only gripe is that snapping Netflix doesn't seem to work but is something that I'll figure out on my own.

As for the games I picked up DR3, Ryse, Forza Motorsport5, BF4 , and KI. KI was the game I played the most while I w gtas ripping the games to the HD and as pleasantly suprised by the sharpness and pop of the colors and graphics. Theone stage the stands out for me is chief thunders stage towards the end it rains and the rain beads of and bounces off of the character is pretty detailed and cool.
Led.

My honest impression of Ryse is that it is a mundane hack and slash that has somwithinpth in the combat but to me is marred by the lack of enemy variations but make up for it's sheer number of finishers and upgrades that make it fun at times and keep me interested. FM5 was nice and smooth and other than not having a new car unlock when you level up the rumble in the triggers feel very good and the subtle rumbling do impart the feel of the car when you turn hard and you fight to keep your car on the track.

The audio of the cars are awesome since I have a decent receiver it process the LPCM signal and the roar comes to life in all it's losses glory thus it is imperative to have a hi end receive to get the most out of the audio upgrade. Anybody who says DD and DTS sounds better is just fooling themselves.

Other thing that I will add IMO the netcode on BF4 and KI is in short godly as the netcode is something to behold as I had no disconnections or drops during my online time. Especially on BF4 the frame-rate and lag is nonexistent during my time with it and may be YMMV with others. BF4 conquest is a sight to behold as the games sub 1080p graphics hold it's own visually and could careless about the resolution as I would trade stable 60fps rate and netcode over more pixels however fanboys would tend to disagree with me and triump more pixels at the behest to sacrificing frame rate and unstable netcode

Overall happy with the system so far and despite those who care deeply about 720 vs 1080 when I started playing and enjoying the new ecosystem I could careless. For those die hard fanboys that seem to care go ahead and waste you time nitpicking and starting flame wars while I waste my time playing games rather than stressing on pixel counting. :)

I did see that. Although, I think this has to do with the fact that Xbox is currently the main brand in the US, and that it has released in multiple countries, compared to the PS4, which has currently only been released in the US. Comparatively, the PS3 did much better on the Japanese market than in the US (I also believe in European markets and Australia and such the Xbox 360 sold better, although I may be wrong.) So, all in all, the PS4 selling that many units is much more impressive, although I do not know whether the XboxOne sales are specifically referring to only US sales or all sales.

@Xboxsegafan187 - Does it support MP3 playback? I saw an impressions video that said it didn't. If that's the case where is outcry from people who were mad at Sony for not including it?

Good question I'll try and load some mp3 files to see if they run or not via USB.

The Xbox One was released in 17 territories on the 22nd. The PS4 has only been released in 2 territories. Those of us outside of North America are still waiting...

Edit:

It's referring to all sales. And hence why PS4 are getting far more credit for selling 1 million, because 1 million in 2 territories is way more impressive than 1 million in 17 territories.
