nope. it was all real. Lawler had a heart attack during that match and was actually asleep for 20 mins...good thing the CPR brought him back mildly to stabilize him.

During his earlier bout, I told my wife, "He should NOT be wrestling. Look at the guy, he's sweating bullets and looks like he's going to stroke out".

Sad stuff. Hope he pulls through, and the WWE should be ashamed for putting the guy in the ring again.

yeah, i'm hoping that will be the last match for him and just stay in the announce team for good. his expected to undergo a minor procedure today, where he will have a stent placed in his heart.

He was not fit enough to be in the ring. I consider myself to be in "athletic shape" but no chance in hell would I step into the ring. Yeah experience counts, but jeez, Lawler can't even speak without breaking a sweat. Someone should have stepped in, no matter how long the story line was written out.

At the same time, Lawler agreed to it. This is a lose-lose situation. I don't see Lawler coming back, he just can't handle the demands from the WWE. The travel, the stress, the physical demand...

Time to hang up the gloves Lawler and enjoy life.

It's not the WWE's fault. The guy has his own wrestling organization in Memphis even (named Memphis Wrestling). It's Lawler that won't quite hang-up the boots for good. Which is quite common with aging wrestlers.

Anyone else see the yahoo article about Mr. Belding doing a stunner in an indy show?

Apparently the event was called. Saved by the Ring Bell.

Super cheesey, but i would liked to have seen that.

Belding stops around my town once a year for the Michael Jordan Golf Classic/Tournament. He usually steps into a club, poses for pictures, and then leaves with a few sorority girls in his limo. I'm not kidding, some chicks have a thing for the guy.
