Yes, I remember that crap. For whatever reason Walmart over-staffs the day shift while the night shift is essentially a skeleton crew if everyone shows up. When I was there I usually had three or four departments to run by myself, while on days there'd be at least one person per department, usually two. When there's no customers they get to stand around and talk. And during the first hour or two of my shift, which usually overlapped the last one or two hours of the day shift, I'd end up doing their job for them while they acted like they didn't see the customers needing help. I don't understand why Walmart treats the day shift so much better even though they make less money per hour and have a higher turnover rate than nights.

Wow, just thinking about my old job got me complaining. I so don't miss retail.

I really hate that kind of thing too. I'm like one of a dozen or so tech's at my work, we'll do like 2000+ orders on Monday for instance and if just one person is out, it always hurts. Even worse when it's a closer or something.

Ha, yeah. I won't miss this job when I'm finally somewhere else.

I do like the stability, and I'm not likely to ever get fired or anything, but ugh, this place sometimes... Honestly, though, I can definitely say that my job at the movie theater was worse. Inconsistent hours, crappy pay, annoying managers, inconsiderate customers, and you seriously learn to loathe the smell of popcorn.

I'm wanting to try and get a different job of some sort when I get ready to move out of Abilene, but it's nice knowing in the back of my mind that if nothing else I can just have them transfer me to a different store.

What about the apples though? Are they safe?

Ticked: I saw six, I repeat six, of these monstrositiesthis morning. Not all the same model, but the same kind of vehicle. This affirmed that I in fact am prejudiced.

Anytime I see a parent walking next to his or her kid who is in one of those battery cars I immediately hate both the parent and the kid. These parents are depriving their kids of one of the best inventions of all time, the Big Wheel. Plus their kids look like pansies and the parents look like like they bought the thing to postulate that they make more than they earn.

My sunburned scalp is starting to heal, but that means it's shedding like mad.

:) Wanted to get into online gaming and decided to give Smashmuck Champions a try.

:D Pretty good so far, but...

:( My laptop's touch pad has some issues. Aside from being a touch pad and not a real mouse (can't afford one right now and the one I do own is in storage), the cursor locks whenever a key is held.

 At the motel they're gonna shut the water off for 5 hours a day (from 10am to 3pm) for the next three days. It starts on Tuesday, and they tell us on the Monday before!

BigWheel FTW. Best vehicle I've ever owned.

I rode mine for hours on end. Riding down the front stairs of my parent's house, pedaling like a maniac to see how fast I could go, and of course the parallel park slide. The big wheel ruled. Black wheels, yellow seat, and red handle bars that were almost ape hangers.

And the sound of those plastic wheels grinding down the sidewalk...music to my ears.

Smile: Just placed a huge slab of pork ribs in a brine. It's been raining here for at least the past five days, and I've been itching to cook on the grill. Ribs, baked beans, corn on the cob, and collard greens tonight!
