This is why at high speeds say, on the highway, you are in a higher gear for lower rpms.

And the sound it will make will depend on the speed you are going. If you are at a speed that isnt too higher for the lower gear, it may not spike the engine rpms too much.
For the sound he did in the video.. it was definitely accel.

5th to 4th wont do squat.. 5th to 3rd yes.

5th to 3rd on the highway makes my pants tighter in my car <3

I'll say it one more time:

I don't know junk about cars.

I have changed my oil, fuel filter, air filter, brake pads, battery, starter, spark plugs, and other parts, but by no means am I an expert.

But I do know about driving. Pretty damned good at driving and avoiding little slabs of cardboard and squirrels, let alone people at 70 MPH.

The sound in that video wasnt from his car. The person was shooting video from the other side of the track and a car out off screen but on the close side of the track is what was heard.

On a dirt track where the only lights are overhead (none on sprint cars) and the person is wearing all black and running toward you against a dark dirt background?

(Note I haven't really followed the story closely or seen any video, but he was apparently in black)

Reading about the Milgram experiments when you can't sleep is not a good way to solve the problem of not sleeping in the first place.
