Ha! Nice take on that. I love it. I've got another one.

DeusExes.

THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT FORUM NAME.

I asked Chaz if he preferred the enchiladas or chimichanga. So Chaz places his hands right below his waist, and then gesticulates how long and thick both were; my wife had to look away as she couldn't stop laughing. I mean, he actually said, while miming with his hands near his crotch, "well the enchilada is about six inches long, and this thick (gives the okay gesture). But our chimichanga is more like eight inches long, this thick (two hands forming an O) and also comes with cream on the side". I replied with "Yum. Well sign me up for that chimi".
That must have been a big burrito haha

I watched Malice Mizer's Merveilles concert on Youtube last night. It was bittersweet. It was awesome to see the concert, even if my all favorite songs came in the first half. But now I'm depressed because not only do half on the Merveilles album depress me, but the fact that this great band no longer exists and most likely never will again, plus knowing that Gackt would leave and Kami would die soon after, just makes it sad.

Also I'm going to pick up Pokémon X later.
Insert clever quote here.

For those who don't keep up with sports, Adrian "All Day" Peterson had a two year old son pass away this week. Peterson is arguably the best running back in the NFL and is marketed as an all around good guy.

My wife and I watched an interview with "All Day" yesterday and he looked and sounded like nothing had happened. He was asked "How has this affected you?" and his response was "I'm focusing on our game against the Panthers".

Everyone deals with death differently, but his lack of any emotion whatsoever was odd. It was like he lost his phone charger, not one of his kids.

It might not have hit him yet. It took my dad a full week to show anything after my Grandfather's passing. Denying that the event has happened is a way that humans deal with loss, and maybe he just has put himself in the mindset that the child is still with his mother. (I'm assuming that he shared custody with the mother based on how the story I read was written.)

I don't get to take Counseling and Dynamics of grief until after January. I am very curious about the different ways people deal with loss. It's one of the classes that I am looking forward to.

Yeah, when my grandparents died, it took a while for it to really sink in that I'm not going to talk to them or see them anymore. There were moments that it actually would slip my mind that they were gone, like I'd consider calling my grandmother to tell her about some recent situation or life event and then I'd remember that I can't do that...

That was only a couple of years ago too.

Aw Man...

When my Grandfather Harry died, my entire family stayed with my Grandmother as we prepared for the funeral. My Grandfather's best buddy was a guy named Ghanka who he had served with him in WWII. Ghanka eventually moved to Florida, but they kept in touch.

When my Grandmother received a call from Ghanka saying that he was going to fly up for the funeral my Grandmother shouted with jubilation "Oh Harry! Harry! Ghanka is going to visit!"...and then she placed her hands over her face weeping and said, "oh harry".

It was one of the saddest things I have ever seen and gave me the biggest watermelon yet to engulf my throat.

...

I've seen people deal with death in almost every way possible, and even when people "shut down" or "show no emotion" there are still signs. Posture, gesticulations, inflection of voice, and the general look of being healthy. It may have been only this one interview and this is horrible to say, but he did give off a very "One less child support check I have to write" attitude. He wasn't dodging questions or redirecting them, he just didn't seem to care.

Perhaps that is his defense mechanism, or perhaps his PR team is helping with the interviews. I'm quite callous and insensitive when it comes to death, so believe me, I'm not throwing stones. I'll try to find the interview online so I can share it, but it was bizarre.

My grandmother just couldn't handle it when my grandfather died. She just kinda gave up on life. It's something you hate to see.
