Tried on the PS2 version after the cab troubles...still stuck 11-13 mil each run.
You can clear playing mostly in overdrive at around 20-25 mil and it's "easy" (the scoring is easy, since really no skill involved, again, just referring to the scoring of it) but to get in the 40-60 mil range, you have to get to 1,000 each stage quickly (which means not taking hits on bosses for starters) and then canceling expertly (allowing tons of bullets to flow, and then only taking out the big enemies, since small enemies shoot far less bullets but still take off huge parts of your gem meter).
Anyways, yeah, 13+ was my high. I feel like a huge run is out there, but maybe it isn't. I prob put 7-8 hours into it and it just never hit.

Didn't do any better than near the 7 mil I got, but the tips I picked up later in the week did come in handy. Plus, another Cave game I can really get more into. It was a successful week.

I was basically in the same boat, and felt that I had the least amount of time to practice the game I've most enjoyed so far in the tourney. Oh well, one more week to go.

I finally had a reason to dust this game off. I really enjoyed it. I thought I would have all week to play, but unfortunately I did not. Like mj, I was stuck in 13 million purgatory. I wish I had more time.
I hope the next game is something I have on a portable since I'll be out of town all of next week.

sooo...tips and suggestions for where to download how to best run SSS 2.0? Seems like there are Wii, GBA, PSP ports and more of various builds floating around...feeling a bit lost!

Same here, I am lost. I got it running on my PSP only to find out there is no 5 min mode. Just 2 min. Halp!
Edit: No luck on finding a portable version of 2.0. Looks like no entry from me this week.
Off to Hawaii....

I've been searching for a way to play this for an hour.
Everytime I think i'm close, I either need to install something else...or give my credit card.
Here's my score for the week.

pretty much everyone there has ignored any port/version/rom/emu questions I've had the whole tourney. Sorta irritating.
