What was the last movie you've seen?

A fun film for what it is, but it seems like JJ Abrams is doing his best to make Star Trek fans pissed off.
I think the biggest offense, outside of the lack of logic in the world (giant destruction of a city...but just on the other side of the road, people are commuting to work and going lalala) is the fact that they tried to stick to the original material and just change it. If they had a completely different story, that may have changed...but there is just a lot going wrong with the film on a film standpoint, not a star trek standpoint.

I wasn't seeking it out, it was on Kotaku. Why did I bother to injure my brain?

TMNT trailer

*edit per Bogus' pointing out*

Is a wonderful spoilertastic trailer as they all seem to be these days for anyone that plans on seeing this.

First off...thank you movie trailer for giving away every single plot point of the film. That was awfully nice of you. Now I don't need to see the film.

Second...who doesn't want a Giant Mech Shredder?

Eh, sorry about that. I wasn't even thinking about that as I cringed through it and spread the misery. I had no plans to see the movie anyway.

Oh man don't worry. I wasn't really complaining....but yeah, movie trailers really do spoil everything now.

I will probably see the film, good or bad, as I just have to know. I'm the guy who sat through all the Twilight movies to assertively say they were horrible.

Funny story about that. My wife was being pressured by her co-workers to see the Twilight films and she brought it up as a possibility to me and I was like, "Oooookk, but just so you know they are disgustingly bad."

We watched the first film, and about 15 minutes in, my wife starts to laugh and tells me to turn it off - that she had seen enough. I paused the film and said, "OH NO! YOU WANTED TO SEE THESE SO WE ARE GOING TO SEE AAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL OF THEM!" And hit play.

Those movies ended up being a very hilarious experience for both of us, so yay!

Mr and Mrs Smith. Great movie IMO!

On another movie related note: Don't know how many of you were Power Rangers fans back in the 90's. I happened to be a die hard fan when I was little. Anyway, supposedly there is a new movie in the works that will target young adults instead of kids. I can't seem to find any solid information regarding the new film though, just speculation. I am interested. Anyone else have any information or interest in this?

My interest is dependent on how awesome of a rocking guitar theme song the movie has. The original series set a high bar.

I finally saw HER last night. Suffice to say I have mixed feelings regarding this film.

"Now" being subjective. Cast Away gave away everything, EVERYTHING, 14 years ago. They could have cut that trailer when he was pushing off to sea on his boat and it would have been an awesome trailer, but nooooooooo they just HAD to push on to his wife meeting him at the door. Also around that time I had the misfortune to see "Drowning Mona" (which always makes me think it's Throw Momma From The Train because Danny Devito).. wherein everything ACTUALLY FUNNY about the movie was in the trailer -- and 2/3rds of it wasn't in the movie!

And on the topic of "Funny shit in the trailer that got cut from the actual movie", can we talk about The Transporter deflecting a damned RPG (not the Squeenix kind) with a serving platter and how amazingly ridiculous that was?

Anyway, back on topic.. I finally got around to watching Ted. Just finished it actually. It was... amusing, but I think I would have been annoyed if I had paid the 10 bucks to see it in theatres. And man, Seth Macfarlane didn't even try for a new voice. The self-referential nod to how much your character sounds like your other character does not excuse it, Seth!
