Random Gaming Thoughts
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
At this point the main differentiator between the Xbox and the PS is which one your friends have.

I'm actually interested in the Scorpio. I haven't bought an XB1 yet, so it would cover the few exclusives I'm interested in there, plus 4K Blu-Ray is kinda appealing given that I have a 4K TV now.
Despite that, though, I'm still not happy at all with the mid-cycle upgrades. It's defeating the very purpose of a console.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I TOTALLY agree, and that's why I'm pissed about the mere existence of the PS4 Pro and Scorpio. I'll get both once I get a 4K TV, but I'm holding off until then (even though I really want a PS4 Pro for the enhanced framerate and textures in 1080p games).Sarge wrote:I'm actually interested in the Scorpio. My biggest concern is ending up in a Hyrule Warriors on 3DS vs. New 3DS situation. It's borderline unplayable from what I hear on the older hardware.

You hear correctly. You're rocking a nice 10 - 15 fps on the original hardware. It's playable, but only barely.Sarge wrote:My biggest concern is ending up in a Hyrule Warriors on 3DS vs. New 3DS situation. It's borderline unplayable from what I hear on the older hardware.

I don't predict the Scorpio making much of a splash. All the first party titles are hitting Windows 10 now. I guess if you want some convenience, it's maybe good. It sounds like it'll be an actual step up from the X1 and ahead of the PS4 Pro, speculation that the price could be $600 max. I'm just like... at that point, why bother when you can sink all that into an awesome PC? And don't get me wrong, I'm 110% more a console guy, but I'm just utterly failing to see why I'd ever need an X1 by this point.

Funnily enough I actually just bought a Speccy as I read that. I've been wanting one on and off for years and I recently got the chance to grab a +2 model for a decent price.BoneSnapDeez wrote:ZX Spectrum games now on Steam:

Hope we continue to see more of these. Pretty much impossible to obtain and play this system in the US.

I doubt it since companies trying to combine their services not separate them, it is also more economically sound to them to use the same software and servers than to separate the 2.ElkinFencer10 wrote: They haven't really given concrete details yet. The only other mid-cycle upgrade I know about is the 32XSarge wrote: Despite that, though, I'm still not happy at all with the mid-cycle upgrades. It's defeating the very purpose of a console.
