Replayed MGS: The Twin Snakes, since I'll be playing through the MGS HD Collection soon. Figured it would be best to start with the beginning.

Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions
I've been meaning to finish this game for some time. Really enjoyed the game, and to my surprise the 2099 and Noir levels were my favorite. I played through the game without any upgrades, so after beating the game, I bought all the alternate suits and combat upgrades, as without a doubt I'll be playing it again.
Ever get that "now what?" feeling after beating a game?

Definitely. thats why I plan out a set of games to play in a row (like recently I played through games on console I own more than 5 unbeaten games for). It's even worse when you finish a set of games though. I have no idea what to play until Skyward Sword comes out.

I'm thinking Assassin's Creed or the Devil May Cry series, but I honestly don't feel like playing another game for hours at a time for a while.
More than likely I'll get back on the retro train for a few days until I can figure out exactly what I would find fun to play for days on end. That, or I'll keep playing poker on RDR for hours and hours.

When I played through it several years ago, I enjoyed Painkiller enough to run back through on the highest difficulties and collect the cards. It reminded me of a version of Serious Sam that took itself far too seriously, but still offered me ridiculous weaponry, hordes of enemies, and frantic gameplay that I enjoyed for hours on end. I found less to love about the Battle Out of Hell expansion, but it still served as an interesting addition for the original game.
Several years passed, and I finally sat down with Painkiller: Resurrection. I remembered with fondness the hordes of axe-wielding maniacs, the quickfire and interesting level designs, the frantic gunplay of yesteryear. And I was let down immensely. Painkiller: Resurrection fell into the same hole that the original Painkiller fell into, taking itself far too seriously. But that in itself wouldn't have lowered my opinion of the game so much if it hadn't also driven the formula in directions I didn't care for and done so in such a shoddy manner.
First, Painkiller does not lend itself to the sort of long levels one finds in, say, sections of Half-Life. Despite how story-driven one might consider Painkiller: Resurrection to be, after a while it inevitably devolves into "see enemy spawn, kill enemy with whichever gun has ammo." In the short flashes of the original game, this worked fine because levels were so short and often tossed in unique enemies specific to either that single level or a small handful of them. But Painkiller: Resurrection decided this wasn't good enough, instead pitting the player into endurance matches that can last literally hours, blasting away at yet another horde of the same enemies he's been seeing for thirty minutes now. It gets monotonous, and it gets monotonous quickly. I couldn't rush through this game in the way that I could with similar titles, because I had to take a break between each level and go do something to get over my boredom.
Painkiller: Resurrection also suffers in the technical department. It doesn't matter that I had all the graphics turned off and the resolution set to the smallest setting, I still experienced horrendous lag at times just walking through empty rooms. This leads me to believes that there were some hideous issues with optimization in the game, and it really just adds to the easy monotony by forcing me to slaughter hordes of enemies in slow-motion. The truth is, the game felt like it was a fan-project for the original game, but one in which the fans working on it just couldn't hammer out all the bugs.
Sure, the same great weapons return. Sure, the gameplay is the same. But Painkiller: Resurrection lacks the polish of the original and feels like a tacked-on expansion with little good to offer, or worse, a fan-made level pack that lost the spirit of what made the original so much fun.

Perhaps you could put your previously beaten games in spoilers now
That way we can easily see your new beaten games, still see the old ones, and not use up tons of space. That was my plan at least

360Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - PS3 *new* 2011 TOTAL: 772010 Games BeatenThis felt a tad bit longer than the campaigns in the previous MW games, and certainly is the prettiest and most diverse campaign in the series to date. It was odd how many narrative similarities there were to Battlefield 3's story (really, both games have us up against the Russians?)...but the game is paced much better and has much more engaging set pieces, storytelling, and gunplay. I know that I am in the minority of folks who buy/play these games primarily for single player (though I will dabble in multiplayer some), but I quite enjoy seeing what the game designers can do with war in contemporary contexts - something that gets lost sometimes in multiplayer.
Also, I would love to see a release of the campaigns in MW 1-2-3 as a standalone single player game. It would be an engaging FPS of substantive length, and I think it would be attractive to people (like me) who still consider multiplayer a secondary feature. If they were to throw in a few additional missions and some nice extras, I'd be happy to play through the trilogy again.
