I finished up Twin Peaks (which, despite a very, very uneven second season was still pretty great), and I have started watching The Returned.

It is fucking awesome, and when my job stops keeping me up past 2 AM, I am going to binge-watch the hell out of it.

All it does for me is wish I was drinking a beer right now...

I think I said this in another topic, but it really didn't become any more relevant to the MCU. I agree that the show became better after the events of The Winter Soldier, and I commend them for actually taking a risk (hopefully they don't backtrack on it), but the show's storylines have yet to make any impact on the films, and I hope it stays that way since the writing on the show is miles behind the writing on the films. I imagine the only event that will ever make its way from the show to the movies is the reveal that coulson is still alive, maybe in Avengers 3.

I thought this also, until the show started showing all this Kree stuff. And there's two very iconic Kree characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. Phase 3 sounds like it'll involve the Kree Skrull War (or Annihilation or something) and/or Infinity Gauntlet.

But I think this is more, the show's writing is being influenced by what will happen in the MCU, rather than, writers on the show coming up with something and it propagating into the movies.

The only aspect that would need addressing from the show, specifically is that Coulson runs SHIELD now ... whatever that means.

I don't know why people make such a big deal about the Captain America movie. I haven't seen it, and I don't feel like I missed out on anything in the show. What made the last five or six episodes of the show awesome is something that happened on the show itself that had nothing at all to do with the movie

Ward turning evil

People really exaggerate how mandatory it is to see the Marvel movies. I recently watched Thor the Dark World and realized afterward that the crossover episode they did had literally nothing to do with the movie at all. It just featured one of the characters doing a cameo for that particular episode.

People should see the movies just because they're fun movies, not out of some sense that they are required viewing for the show. They can add a bit more flavor to watching the show, which is cool, but they are not mandatory to watch.

I'm mainly watching Orphan Black and Game of Thrones right now, with most of my shows on hiatus I'll probably get back to Sons of Anarchy and do a few marathon sessions to see if I can get all caught up.

Orphan Black is my new underrated show. I use to sing the praises of Nikita all the time as that great show nobody talked about. Orphan Black is another winner and I'm happy that BBC has been hyping it up. The show manages to grab your attention in like the first three minutes of episode 1.

I am going to start watching In the Flesh as well, another BBC show that I have heard some good things about.

Man, that last Game of Thrones episode, JESUS CHRIST! Game of Thrones is the most brutal, heartless show on television. Watching it is like this masochistic experience. It will emotionally abuse you and laugh at your suffering...and you'll keep coming back for more. The last few minutes of this scene is not for the week of heart, and it's of course spoilery
