What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Smile: My piano tuner fixer upper called minutes ago to schedule a tune up for tomorrow. I mentioned "the sooner the better" and he said he might be able to make it early tomorrow morning.
He also mentioned "Not to catch you off guard, but I am blind and will have a driver with me".
Ever the idiot I immediately shouted "Suhhh-wheeeeeeeeeat! You must be like a human tuning fork".

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Went walking today with my laptop bag, looking for better WiFi hotspots.
For those who don't know, the WiFi here at the motel I'm staying at is very slow, being only 0.25 Mb/s (download).
The first one I checked out was at the nearby Winn-Dixie. Usually I use it when I'm going for a walk and stop there to use the bathroom. I usually just check my e-mail and watch videos on my iPod Touch. One time I tried to use it with my PSP to go onto the PSN but it didn't work.
The speed was tested and clocked in at around 1.5 Mb/s (download), which is around SIX TIMES as fast as what's here at the motel, and I was sitting outside on a bench and not even getting a full-strength signal (the signal was about 4 out of 5).
The upside is it's the fastest of the three I'm currently fully aware of (not counting those not tested with my laptop), but the downside is that there's not really a place to plug my laptop in. At some point my battery started to run low and I decided to leave.
And while there may have been other places to try, my next destination was the McDonald's down the street.
Theirs was much slower than the WiFi at Winn-Dixie, with download speeds only reaching just over 1.0 Mb/s, and it showed big time. But aside from being closer than the Winn-Dixie (probably half the distance), it was also indoors (which doesn't really matter since at Winn-Dixie I was under the awning and therefore not in the sun, though being indoors helps if the weather goes south quickly) which meant that the natural light wasn't making it harder to see the screen, which was already at such a low brightness to compensate for the finite battery life (on battery I usually last about 2 hours). And a major deal-maker was that McDonald's made it easier to access an electrical outlet, so naturally I was there longer (like roughly twice as long).
The only downside, aside from security concerns and the fact that they're probably keeping tabs on what you access, is the fact that the WiFi is for customers, so there's the risk that they might not be cool with someone using their WiFi. This is probably rings true especially at McDonald's, where the seat and outlet being used by me could be used by an actual customer.
Missed The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror special this year. I only managed to watch the first bit of the intro before my mom, grandma and nieces came back from their walk and naturally took over the TV (because apparently they're too GOOD to like The Simpsons), but I gotta say...
I liked what little I managed to see! Especially something I didn't think I'd actually see on The Simpsons, or any show for that matter...

I have a feeling you'll sorta like one of the girls. She'll probably be giving you hints too, something on her facebook page will probably say, "Met a really awesome guy...and he's not my boyfriend." Most likely you'll wrestle with, "Am I that guy? That'd be great, but...what if i'm not?"...more importantly, you'll also wrestle with the thought of being the guy to break up a perfectly good couple. Ultimately you'll post here to say you want a new muscle car and it's probably due to self-loathing over missing cues about a totally different girl who looked at you when you gave her the wrong change. Was she flirting and just making small talk...or did she in fact, give you a $10 and you gave change for a $5.
This won't end well. Night of, tell yr mom yr sick. It's for the best.
