I just spent the last 2 hours filling in all the holes in my collection that RFG was missing in the GOG section of their database (and also adding games I forgot on my first pass through that were already there). Through the efforts of ExedExes, you'll soon see these games in the database:Fragems wrote:You can always submit any games that are missing. I ended up having to submit probably 300+ of the games that were in my Steam library when they first started it.
Usually takes a day or two to get your submission verified but you get a nice little credit on the page for the submission and then you can add it to your collection.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I had no idea ALL the Art Style games were good! I bought my DSii second hand, so it had a couple games downloaded on it already. PicoBits was one of them, and that game is so fun! One of the best newer puzzle games I've played, for sure! If they aren't on the 3DS eShop, I'm definitely picking those bad boys up today. Same goes for that sequel to X, and that there Spotto thing as well, possibly. Next time the Art Style game go on sale again, I'm gon' buy aaaaall dose little buggersalienjesus wrote:If anyone here has a DSi and doesn't have all 7 of the Art Style games for the system, I strongly advise they get on that now. They're utterly fantastic.
Other games I enjoyed include:
X-Scape (a sequel to Japan only GB game X, and possibly the best game on the service not called Art Style
Spotto!" - A Nintendo developed puzzle game where you have to angle bombs into targets.
Metal Torrent - A pretty basic bullet hell, but pretty fun in it's own way.
Pop Island - A fun team capture the flag game with surfing penguins and skateboarding elephants.
Starship Patrol - A tower defence game, but a really good one. It's by Q games.
Looksleys Line-Up - Perhaps not as impressive as it used to be, but this is a fun '3D' game which monitors head movements to adjust the environment in game. You have to find the right angle to find hidden objects in the environment.
For the record, All of the above mentioned games (including the 3 I mentioned a few posts ago) are on the 3DS eShop with the exception of Starship Patrol. There is, however, a game called Penguin Patrol on there, which may or may not be made by the same people. It looked fun dough.
Other good games that are ALSO on the 3DS eShop: Dragon Quest Wars, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Mini's March Again, Cave Story.
Good games that AREN'T on the 3DS eShop: Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition
Fun fact: X was the game the original Star Fox team made before they made Star Fox, as a proof of concept that they could make a 3D game on very limited hardware.
It's good to see how much of the library from the DSi they brought over so we're not missing much with this DSi shutdown

Yeah, most DSiWare will still be on eShop, but it definitely looks better on a DSi screen.PartridgeSenpai wrote: I had no idea ALL the Art Style games were good! I wouldn't count on a sale on the Art Style games. I don't think there has ever been a sale on DSiWare before.
My ratings of the Art Style games:
Pictobits/Picopict - This is probably the best one. Fast paced and fun with an awesome soundtrack.
Boxlife - This one is deceptively simple, but really challenging and really tests your brain. Pretty great.
Digidrive/Intersect - This is probably the most complicated game mechanically, but it's also the most frenetic and fast paced of the bunch. This one is super compelling. It's between Boxlife and Intersect for the 2nd best on on DSiWare.
Base 10/Code - This one is pretty fun too. You have to match up numbers that add up to 10. Swapping the numbers around lets you move them, but the numbers flip over each other, meaning that they change - 2 becomes 5 when you flip it horizontally, 8 works in any direction, 6 becomes 9 if flipped vertically. It's quite slow overall, but I like it.
Precipice/KuBos- This one kinda reminds me Intelligent Qube in style, although it doesn't quite play the same. It involves a 2d tower of blocks you must ascend, moving blocks to create platforms to climb. It's a bit slow, and not my personal favourite, but some people claim it's the best one so it'd depend on your tastes.
Aquia- This one is a pretty traditional match 3 block puzzler, but it is HAAAARD. I like it though.
Nemrem/Zengage - I said that all 7 DSiWare Art Life games were worth buying,. but I lied. This one kinda sucks. You just slide rows and columns around until the right coloured balls sit on the right coloured squares. I found this dull and frustrating.
Check out the 5 WiiWare Art Styles if you get the chance too - there's not a dud in that selection. Rotohex is a favourite.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
How wide (in centimetres) are the Super Famicom and the Super Famicom Mini? Also, are Dreamcasts really less than 20 cm wide?
I'm seeing if there's a way to fit an Extron Crosspoint in my setup or if I'm dumb for trying to fit it in

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
All my GOG submissions to RFG are now live. Adding in the 10 new Interplay titles I got during the latest sale, which were already in the database, my GOG titles are now at 170, easily outpacing all the console collections.

By this time next year I expect Steam to be my #1. GOG.com may perhaps be #2 at that point as well. Digital games are just so convenient.ExedExes wrote:All my GOG submissions to RFG are now live. Best of all, they just work. Not that I don't appreciate a challenge when it comes to installing and figuring out all the issues of older PC games on new hardware, because I am highly technical! But after trying to get the original Bioshock to play well on my desktop, I gave in and finally went back to Steam after a 6 year absence (when I created that account), and bought 1 & 2 there and got the remastered versions for free. No more crashes! Now I got another place to dump all my money into when they get those crazy cheap sales!
