I cannot believe you managed to troll me into this one again, Luke. I'm really only disappointed with myself. Anyway, I'll go back to not knowing anything about "hip hop" and I'll leave you to be the authority on the subject.

This sounds very much like the "hardcore" debate...That is, one member makes of a definition for a term that suits his or her tastes and then argues that any other definition of the term is incorrect.

EDIT: Vanilla Ice and Fred Durst are obviously "folk".

I thought the basic tenets of rap and hip hop were that the music video had to have:

A) A show of gratuitous wealth
B) Tits and Ass
C) A lavish party somewhere in the vicinity of swim-able quantity of water (ie pool, lake, ocean)
D) Bling
E) Imagery idolizing the consumption of liquor and / or illicit substances

You guys mean to say there's more to it than that!?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I don't know, Flake. You'll have to ask Luke. I'm no longer certain if I've seen an actual hip hop music video or not now.

Wait a second. You guys have seen Luke's picture. Why are you taking his word on what hip-hop is or isn't again?
