Is it accurate that your game data (DLC, saves) is housed separate from the actual game? So when you delete a title from your library, the other stuff remains in the event you re-install? Or is this something that only works if you back-up to the cloud?

I ask because I had to reinstall NBA 2k15 (i was working through old titles to make sure i had the most recent patches) and the support told me after 15-20 minutes, the newly installed game would sync with my saved stuff. I did have to still re-install the patches, which is tough for any offline mode re-installing years from now.
Yeah, the PS4 has game install data and game save data separate. The Wii U does the same thing. Not sure about the Xbox One, though.
The Xbox One also separates it.

I've become increasingly bored with my Xbox One. It's not necessarily because the system or the games on it are bad, but I think more because my tastes in games are changing. For quite a few years (mostly through high school and afterwards) I was primarily interested in online first person shooters. Halo and Gears of War, mostly. But in the past few years I've found myself less and less interested in playing these games. After looking at lists of all of the games, and looking at only exclusives, the PS4 is far more interesting to me right now. There actually isn't a single Xbox One exclusive game coming up that I can honestly say excites me, where the PS4 is getting Shenmue III, No Man's Sky, and even the MLB games have me interested. I think I'm going to attempt to trade my Xbox One for a PS4. I know I could just buy the system if I want it, but the only thing that's kept me from getting rid of my X1 so far has been Doom, and PS4 has that, too...

This thread hasn't been updated in nearly 2 months? What happened? Did everyone get bored of their PS4s?

Um, so anyways, my wife and I just bought Unravel, because it's a game we were both interested in checking out. The problem is, it's part of this newfangled Indie trend of only letting you have one save file. What's that? Just play the game in your separate accounts? Yeah, it doesn't let us do that... Apparently (is this a new thing? We've never had this problem before), the game will only let us play it when logged in as myself. If my wife logs into her PS4 account, the game tells her she can't play it, because the licence is only allowed with my account.

Is there a simple way for us to both play?

If you make the PS4 your "home PS4" for your account, other accounts logged into that PS4 should be able to access the other software.

I got The Witness! Kinda hard to talk about that game without spoiling anything though.

I think The Witness is one of the most boring games I have ever played. And I thought I liked puzzle games...

Weird! I love it. Surely you don't find the puzzles too easy? There are some toughies.

I haven't touched my PS4 since Bloodborne, though I'll pick it up again when Dark Souls III hits.

HELP GUYS! It's saying I can't activate it as my primary console, because I've already activated another system as my primary PS4! (I haven't... I only own one PS4!) :?

I'd be suspicious of fraud, but no one has ever used my account to buy games and I'm always careful to keep an eye on my bank account.
