Re: Random Thoughts Thread
If you're talking about doing something on your own. You can always set up marathon gaming fund (I think one just finished).
I think the main issue behind any money raising endeavor is you have to get in contact with people whom have wider audiences than you.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Still proud of ya Queso!
So, I was chillin in my apartment, playing some Monster Hunter, and I walked outside to meet my girl as she was coming home... and my apartment complex was on fire. The fire had started in the block of apartments next to ours, and had been spreading. When I got outside and asked about the situation, I was told that it was unknown as to whether the fire would reach us or not. It had spread over 4 apartments, and had reached the small gap in between that set and ours. We had to gather everything important and start loading it in the car.
Now, I admit, I get pretty enthralled by my games... but how the fuck did I not notice this happening? Why did no one knock on my door and let me know I might be on fire soon?
Pretty shocking. Never really thought about what I would do/take if a fire happened. I feel terrible for those that did lose their things, and we are going to see if we can start a fund in our front office to help those out that lost everything. Its just.... damn. Reality check. Couldn't sleep because of it, so this noc shift is going to be brutal. I am happy that no one was hurt or killed in the fire though.

Did everyone get out ok? Did your house catch fire after all or did the fire department stopped it before it spread more?

Yes, luckily no one was injured in the fire. They were able to contain it just as it was reaching our apartment, but only after they soaked our apartment to make sure the jumping flames would not catch. We were much more fortunate than some, a small set of apartments was completely burned down, and several had large amounts of damage.
Apparently, the cause of the uncontrollable spreading was actually our stairs. There are 4 apartments on the top floor of each section, two on each side, and the walkway in between is entirely wood. Not very nice wood either, and I doubt it was treated to prevent this.
I think I spoke with my neighbors more yesterday than in the last year. I guess this sort of thing creates bonding, which is nice. I just still feel so terrible. Not very used to this sort of thing, and seeing people standing in front of their burnt houses... man.
Thank you for asking though Zero, I appreciate it.

Depends, put enough steel in there and you can make it pretty sturdy.BoringSupreez wrote: Not so great during earthquakes.

That's the power of Monster Hunter. Don't feel too bad. MH caused an epidemic of people missing their stops on buses and trains in Japan.dunpeal2064 wrote:how the fuck did I not notice this happening?
