The PS4 thread
Re: The PS4 thread
I think you all make really good points, and I can understand why some people are disappointed with the current gen lineups, but I think that shouldn't be reason to write off the entire generation of consoles. We can already seen that development is picking up fast for PS4 at the very least. It's been the best selling console by a fairly large margin this gen, and developers are picking up on that. If you make a game for the console that sells better, you have a better chance of your game selling well too.

Are there any good racing games out thesedays? Not the kart racers, which are great in their own right.

No. As racecar games become more and more photoreal, there is less and less reason to make these games instead of charging down the highway at 120mph in your actual car. If the cops start chasing you, pretend you're playing Hot Pursuit 2. If they pull you over, grab your weapon and pretend you're playing GTA. Taken to court for resisting arrest? Now it's Phoenix Wright. Jail? Escape from Butcher Bay. The fun is limitless if you only unplug.Xeogred wrote:Are there any good racing games out thesedays? So you're saying we need to get you interested in racing games, then film the results.BoringSupreez wrote:No. As racecar games become more and more photoreal, there is less and less reason to make these games instead of charging down the highway at 120mph in your actual car. Not really. Forza has gotten really disappointing with how DLC-ridden it's become. I haven't played Project Cars, so I can't judge that one (I'm still butthurt that they scrapped the Wii U release after promising it). Has the PS4 even gotten a Gran Turismo game yet?Xeogred wrote:Are there any good racing games out thesedays? Not the kart racers, which are great in their own right.

Drive Club was the title for PS4, although GT 7 is apparently going to eventually come out.
GT 6 was PS3 only.

Re: The PS4 thread
I had a general PS4 question, basically centered around limited HD space and having to delete games to make room for others you want to currently play.
Is it accurate that your game data (DLC, saves) is housed separate from the actual game? So when you delete a title from your library, the other stuff remains in the event you re-install? Or is this something that only works if you back-up to the cloud?
I ask because I had to reinstall NBA 2k15 (i was working through old titles to make sure i had the most recent patches) and the support told me after 15-20 minutes, the newly installed game would sync with my saved stuff. I did have to still re-install the patches, which is tough for any offline mode re-installing years from now.

It's kinda strange there is no GT for PS4 yet, considering that every PS console so far has had 2.

Yeah, the PS4 has game install data and game save data separate. The Wii U does the same thing. Not sure about the Xbox One, though.retrosportsgamer wrote:I had a general PS4 question, basically centered around limited HD space and having to delete games to make room for others you want to currently play.
