Okay. So I am a pretty avid thrift store / pawn shop / yard sale shoppers and am always on the lookout for video games. 95% of my collection has been acquired via these means.

Yesterday I went to the local Hollywood Video to check out the 4.99 sale. Turns out this store wasn't participating (and had a particularly pathetic current generation selection for rental even). But they did have something else. Tucked away in the corner was a small selection of former GameCrazy stock, which had recently closed. All loose game discs and surely nothing worth paying real money for. All used games were however 80% off. 80 is a lot of percent so I sifted through all the sports for a few decent PS2 games. They all cost a dollar. Damn, I thought. That's awesome. But today, all day long, I couldn't help myself in thinking that I had better go back and look more carefully. PS2 games are never going to be less a dollar anywhere. The thrift store charges $3 for NES and Atari cartridges. What am I thinking not grabbing more!

Long story longer, I went back and bought a lot of games today. I spent roughtly 71 dollars on all this:

Wii:
Manhunt 2

GameCube:
Legends of Wrestling II

XBOX:
Otogi: Myth of Demons
ObScure
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
The Suffering: Ties That Bind
Panzer Dragoon Orta
The Punisher
The Warriors
Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil
The Godfather
GunValkyrie
GUN
Second Sight
Freedom Fighters
Arx Fatalis

PlayStation 2:
True Crime: New York City
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
Silpheed: The Lost Planet
Harry Potters and the Chamber of Secrets
Manhunt
Starsky & Hutch
Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening
Reservoir Dogs
Fatal Fury Battle Archives Volume 1
Chaos Legion
Genji: Dawn of the Samurai
Showdown: Legends of Wrestling
Superman Returns
State of Emergency
State of Emergency 2
Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun
Neo Contra
Viewtiful Joe
Mojo!
Vietcong: Purple Haze
Turok: Evolution
Jet Li: Rise to Honor
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Full Spectrum Warrior
Vexx
The King of Fighters: Maximum Impact
Mega Man X7
Tak: The Great Juju Challenge
Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter
Trigger Man
Shinobi
Superman: Shadow of Apokolips
Guilty Gear XX Λ Core

Since I am a mathematical magician, 54 games (I think), 71 dollars... I deduce that's about $1.40 per game. And that's totally awesome.

Nice. I see plenty of games I'd give a try or could probably get at least $1.40 of enjoyment out of even if they were mediocre.

I'm a hardcore thrift store/pawn shop/craigs list etc... kind of guy To a point I have paid next to nothing for my entire collection because i will buy a lot of nintendo/sega stuf etc... off craigs list cherry pick the good stuff and sell the rest. Because of this not only have a paid basically nothing for my entire collection but I make money on top of it. I will say one thing I have found some great things at thrift stores but generally they suck i think for the fact that there are to many people they use thrift stores as a job and go there 3 - 5 times a day (yes per day i talk to some of the employees) The best stuff i've got is from pawn shops and craigslist. If you live in a large city like i do pawn shops are the shit they have so much shit and they never price the old games accordingly. Also craigs list is where i've got a ton of stuff also i mean the bulk of my collection is from craigs list cherry picking.

I went into that game with no knowledge of it.
I have never seen Wolverine like that. I mean sure you figure with claws he kills people... but the ways he disposes of anyone dumb enough to get in his way. Brilliant. Loved it.

Great Game Crazy pull.
