That is some beautiful wood paneling! Part of me hopes that the designers of cars, televisions, and other consumer electronics go back to incorporating wood paneling in their designs...

The wood paneling is so incredibly fake on this though.prfsnl_gmr wrote:That is some beautiful wood paneling! Part of me hopes that the designers of cars, televisions, and other consumer electronics go back to incorporating wood paneling in their designs...
For anyone who's never seen these in person before, they're HUGE. I took a nice comparison photo:

I know it is incredibly fake. That is part of its kitschy charm.AppleQueso wrote:The wood paneling is so incredibly fake on this though.prfsnl_gmr wrote:That is some beautiful wood paneling! What I did not know, however, is the extent of that system's mass. Thanks for the photo!

Yeah, I didn't know it was quite that big either. Definitely larger than I was picturing in my head. Nice find.prfsnl_gmr wrote:What I did not know, however, is the extent of that system's mass. That thing is a beast!
Interestingly, you could place an iPad on the bottom right of your shelf, and it would likely have more processing power than everything else combined...

That Telstar is nice.
My local game shop is teasing me with one of those. They have it on a shelf right behind the counter, but refuse to sell it to me as they're trying to get some sucker to buy it on ebay instead. Lame.
