Frown: It'll cost me around 3.5k to go to both weddings.

Travel expenses (flight, car rental, CTA), gifts, lodging, food expenses, and just another reason(s) to purchase a new suit.

But! I paid for both of my cousins lodging for my my wife's wedding, so maybe they'll do the same.
Where are the weddings going to be?
Chicago and Ottawa.

Wedding touring is something everyone goes through in their thirties. I bet a lot of you feel my pain.

My wife and I were invited to three weddings on one weekend this year. We did the math on going to all of them and it was going to be about 7k in the weekend. Friday - Vegas, Saturday - Mobile AL, Sunday - Atlanta GA. Flights could line up, but it would be really tight. And since that is closed to what we spent on our wedding anyway...

I'm in my late 20s, and it has already started for me. Thankfully things have only been in the South so far, between Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

My fiance and I are keenly aware of this and so we've made it clear to everyone (friends and family) that our wedding is going to be tiny, tiny, tiny with a smallish reception at a restaurant and that's it.

...absolved of the need to spend thousands of dollars and half their vacation time to come see us, most people have complained anyway.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

It picks up rapidly at 30-ish; it's a domino effect.

Then it gets worse: Parties for Babies.

I have something like 5 weddings to attend in the upcoming year. Thank god all of them are in New England at least. I can crash at my parents' house after one of them and at my in-laws' for a couple of the others. May need to book at least one or two hotel rooms.

My wife went to a wedding Friday, but I had to watch my daughter so I got out of it.
